We must integrate the barbarians or we must drive them out? L'idiosincrasia della oligarchia con la democrazia

We must integrate the barbarians or we must drive them out? The idiosyncrasy of oligarchy with democracy
Source: Carlo Formenti
We must integrate the barbarians or we must drive them out? This is what Paolo Mieli asks himself in a leading article in today's Corriere (29 August). The barbarians, Obviously, they are the populists who sit in the control room today without having obtained permission from the old elites. The metaphor is a quirk of an aspiring historian? (poor Montanelli: look who today occupies the role that you deserved beyond your political ideas...). No, this time Mieli steals the idea from two politiciansologists – Giovanni Orsina and Angelo Panebianco – who resorted to it to discuss whether it is worth “civilizing” the barbarians, as the Romans had attempted to do with Odoacer (Orsina version) or chase them away (Panebianco version). Disturbing metaphor, comments Mieli, for the sole fact that the harshness of today evokes the dark era of the fall of the Empire. But disturbing for whom? I would say especially for us citizens, given that we are faced with yet another confirmation (the last one was given to us by Mattarella with his unconstitutional veto on Savona) that the old castes cannot accept certain unpleasant side effects of democracy: when the "ox people" vote on issues for which they are not competent, the mistake must be corrected with good manners (Orsina) or by hook or by crook (Panebianco). The evils hoped for by Panebianco call into question Europe and the Greek-style care that it has proven capable of applying in the event of a "serious mistake" by the electorate. After all, we are a faithful student of Hayek-style neoliberalism (today canonized by the ordoliberists who govern Europe) who had explicitly declared that it was a totalitarian but liberal regime (to Pinochet so to speak) it was preferable to an ultra-democratic but “statist” regime. And the “radical” leftists (the PD is no longer worth talking about)?. Unfortunately, instead of pressing the government on the issues on which it has made some timid positive steps (nationalizations against Genoa-style events, redistributive policies, Fornero reform, great works, tensions with the EU), without obviously giving up attacking him harshly on Salvini-style security paranoia, they seem increasingly willing to play the role of useful idiot, that is, to act as a spare tire of an anti-populist front that, if he succeeded in overthrowing the government, it would impose a return to a "normality" made of even more ferocious sacrifices for the subordinate classes, so that they understand that when you make a mistake you pay dearly... If we abolish the Sacred, It's not worth living

Reporting of BastaBugie editorial team
I'm about to start the brigade ”two plus two equals four”, where we will fight to the death to defend the obvious (VIDEO: two plus two equals four)

Of Silvana De Mari

(AUTOMATIC READING)
Among the gifts asked eight months ago at Christmas from Baby Jesus: peace for persecuted Christians, a home for earthquake victims in the cold, in total cold, more absolute, in the cold of a government that certainly didn't love them, and for us courage, infinite courage, because that's what we need now to avoid being overwhelmed.
Many pastors have abandoned, they betrayed, they sold themselves, the sheep are alone before the wolves.
We ask Christ for the courage to become sheepdogs, those who defend the flock from the most total lies, the first of which is the loss of the sacred, the loss of God's gaze, the reduction of Christ's message to a very selective pauperism.
Once the sense of the sacred is lost, the distinction between good and evil becomes blurred, right and wrong, true and false. The loss of the sacred is the loss of the way that Christ came to open.
The sense of the sacred means waking up and knowing that God knows you are there, walk, write, tidy up the kitchen and know that you are in God's gaze. Read More

Soros surrenders to Orbán The foundation and the NGO abandon Budapest

The reason is an ad hoc law that wants to tax those who deal with migrants in the Hungarian country
Of Manuela Gatti
«You will understand that I don't start crying», ha commentato Viktor Orbán. As if there was any doubt about it.
Probably the Hungarian Prime Minister, re-elected last 8 April for the fourth term, will have celebrated at the news that the foundation of billionaire and philanthropist George Soros will close its offices in Budapest and move to Berlin over the summer. They don't confirm from the NGO, but they speak of the need to protect "the safety of the staff and the integrity of the work". President Patrick Gaspard, however, has already flown in person to the Hungarian capital to inform those around 100 dependent on the decision.
The remote battle between Orbán and Soros has been going on for some time. The casus belli that has now precipitated the situation has a rather explicit nickname: «Stop Row». This is the law that will be discussed by the Hungarian parliament next week and that the government has committed to passing which would impose a tax of 25% on all foreign donations to non-governmental organizations that support migrants in the country. Just like the «Open Society Foundations» of the American Jewish philanthropist of Hungarian origins, the third largest humanitarian organization in the world by assets (18 billions of dollars). A particularly convenient shortcut for the leader of Budapest's populist and conservative right, which in this way would be able to eliminate a good part of the enemy's activity within its national borders. I know how it will end

FIFTH COLUMN
Of Marcello Veneziani
I know how it will end. I know this because I know the story, I know people, I know the potentates, I know immigrants. I know them like you know them, from experience, precedents, realism and use of the world. Until yesterday the scene was as follows: I haven't heard an Italian that I didn't agree with Salvini, that he did not consider it absurd to incriminate an Interior Minister who is doing his duty, as well as his electoral mandate, to safeguard the nation's borders, as provided for by the Constitution, and protect Italians, reject illegal arrivals and reiterate that migrants do not land in Italy but in Europe. It is absurd that we have to remember Europe when it comes to paying debts or not breaking the bank. And instead we must forget about Europe when the migrants arrive because then, suddenly, we become a nation and we have to deal with it ourselves. Our sovereignty consists in the obligation to welcome them, even if everyone else doesn't want them. Until yesterday there wasn't a person I spoke to who wasn't of this idea in one way or another.
On the other hand, I haven't heard a news broadcast, and program, a commentator, a man of power or a newspaper that was not aligned against Italy, against the Italians, against Salvini and on the side of Europe that doesn't care about migrants, on the side of the judges who indict ministers in the name of the law, on the side of migrants who land illegally. A dry match, the united people on one side, compact power on the other. Almost no one in Salvini's company, the League is there but you can't see it, there is only him, there is the Meloni and then down the desert. The grillini, when they are not hanging on the Fig Tree, and therefore they lean to the left, they act like di Maio in order to float and stay where they are, and play at being superminister, he is ready to take it all back and dump the Ally on whom the Palace's media-judicial cannons are aimed, dai catto-bergogliosi to the scattered left.
