Bergoglio lost the elections

In the welter of comments on who won and who lost the elections, no one pointed out that, among the many losers of the 26 maggio, there is also someone who should not have entered the electoral arena: Bergoglio. But instead he entered it, if not him directly (but certain cryptic statements…) certainly the Vatican and the CEI, who essentially campaigned against Salvini. The gesture, very serious, dell’Almoner, with the blatant violation of the law (and the Concordat) it was perhaps the highest point of the Vatican's challenge, not so much to the government itself, as for Matteo Salvini.
Abandoning the Thomistic criterion of prudence, the leaders of the clergy and their newspapers took to the field with a vehemence and even with arguments reminiscent of the "black priests", as Sydney Sonnino called them, that is, the priests hostile to the liberal state in the post-unification decades.
