Flat tax and minimum income, what will be in the maneuver

The government is testing the budget law: “Flat tax and minimum income not alternatives, but we will keep accounts in order”
Of Chiara Sarra
“We will make Italians smile”. After the majority summit in view of the economic maneuver.
Luigi Di Maio reassures “the markets and above all families with unemployed children and parents who are unable to retire or have grandparents who have a minimum pension”.
“Citizenship income and flat tax are not alternatives”, promised the M5s deputy prime minister, speaking of the measures most dear to the two souls of the government. Just before a Radical Radio he had talked about one “Copernican revolution in spending Italians' money”: “All the available resources are starting to be spent on a country that for years has seen the money go to the banks and instead now it is starting to be spent on the Italians”, he explained. The whole thing – promises – “with a courageous budget law that will keep the accounts in order”: “The objective is to implement economic measures, do not challenge Europe on the accounts”.
The maneuver will still contain – they assure from Palazzo Chigi – all economic issues addressed by the contract. “Citizenship income must be included in the Budget Law, the overcoming of Fornero, aid to businesses”, Di Maio said, “All this is possible if we start changing the paradigm, if we put citizens at the center. Fare citizen's income in Italy it means helping businesses and artisans, because those people who will be the recipients of the income will spend money, she will be trained for new jobs and we will be able to reintegrate her by eliminating a part of poverty in Italy. That is the factor that is bringing us to a social condition where diversity is increasing”. Read More

Count of miracles

FIFTH COLUMN
Of Marcello Veneziani
He will be a walk-on, but Giuseppe Conte makes an impression at Palazzo Chigi. So far in his seventy-day trip around the world he has never made a mistake, a phrase, a statement. The only gaffe belongs to his previous life, when he wrote CVs to bulk up a bit. Now there's no more need to argue, in two months he created an enviable CV, reality surpasses rumor. In his speeches perhaps he will keep to the obvious, on the generic, doesn't decide much, it merely entertains, repeat, simulate; but the little he said and the very little he did, he said it and he did it well, without ever going unbalanced. He kept himself on edge with a prodigious balancing act, than even the tightrope walkers at village festivals, those that in our Puglia we called tarall'e Zucchere. He managed not to displease Di Maio, Salvini and Mattarella, indeed he gave the impression of agreeing with each of them. It is Padre Pio's last miracle to demonstrate that nothing is impossible, even that a Count suddenly becomes prime minister, without firing a shot. And don't be attacked by anyone, print included. Big confusion under Trump, the situation benefits us

GREAT CONFUSION UNDER TRUMP. SO THE SITUATION BENEFITS US.

GREAT CONFUSION UNDER TRUMP. SO THE SITUATION BENEFITS US.

Of course seeing John Bolton tamed while, on the way to Moscow where he brings an invitation from Trump to Putin, stops in Rome to invite our Prime Minister Conte to the White House, it makes a certain impression: a lot has changed in just a few weeks, and the change comes from Trump. The same one who in a few days turned the page with Korea...

FROM THE CHOICES FOR THE RAI BOARD A FIRST "BREAKTHROUGH" TEST

Paolo Conti for the “Corriere della Sera”

GIUSEPPE CONTEGIUSEPPE CONTE

Point of no return

Of Marcello Veneziani

Penelope's web. It is woven during the day, it unravels in the evening. Or if you prefer, another state abortion is announced. After three months, Cottarelli's undertaking appears difficult, who also seemed to have left with all the right blessings, except for one negligible detail, the sovereign people. That annoying little charm there, called Italy. And yet he is still at sea, and you run with the headlights off in the night along a Roman road full of potholes and ambushes. The Weaver, Mattarella, he lost the clue, he made glaring mistakes, perhaps ill-advised, he managed to blow the pan first, then the embers and now he risks being left with the match in hand while the spread grows with panic. He no longer knows which way to turn, the abyss advances, specters of elections are stirring in the sun.
Whatever happens we know that we have now achieved the point of no return. An unbridgeable abyss has been dug between the Single Bloc of Power and the whole of Italy. The Single Block includes he Pd, the Great Press, Big Finance, the Caste, the Palaces, starting from the Quirinale… Then there's everything else. Which is not just the Square, the Grillino and Northern League people, the militants, but also the many refractory ones, the independents, the bilateral disgusted, the many who live, they think, they work outside the Single Block.
A was being born for the first time absolute minority government, enactment of the Single Block, in spite of the vote and Italy. Other times the technical governments of the Palace had at least one fig leaf in Parliament. This time there isn't even that, even the Democratic Party, which was the sole shareholder of reference, understood that it was better to withdraw, also because Cottarelli only announces cuts, tears and blood. At the beginning Mattarella had also discarded the hypothesis of a centre-right government that had a relative majority in parliament. And instead he then launched an oligarchic government, the PD-Potentates coalition. Read More

A remote-controlled Premier?

Of Marco Cedolin
A remote-controlled Premier?
Source: The corrosive

The new Di Maio-Salvini government has not yet been presented at the Quirinale and the clamor of the entire national and international piggery is already rising to the sky, indignant and worried about the bad turn that Italy would be taking towards her.
Sale lo spread, the stock markets go down, the leaders of the large EU countries are tearing their clothes, the entire mainstream press predicts unspeakable misfortunes, the Barnum circus of barnyard comedians spits venom, the parasites of non-profit organizations and cooperatives mutter, Both the center-right and the center-left now seem on the verge of a nervous breakdown....
Everyone has to say about everything, from the importance of the role of the future prime minister to the analysis of every single point of the sixty pages of the contract presented in recent days to the base of Lega and M5S voters. Even the controversial hypothesised blockade of the Turin-Lyon TAV manages to displease the rod and cement mafia greatly, fearful of seeing a cake that they already savored as much as NO TAV slip away before their eyes, not willing to "trade" the elimination of the work for the possibility of a crackdown on the business of wild immigration which evidently interests them at least as much as high speed.
In short, everyone is dissatisfied, everyone outraged and everyone worried, which unequivocally indicates that we are on the right path and it is desirable that we continue like this.
If Di Maio had built a government with the PD, by giving life to yet another petalous center-left executive, surely no one would have had anything to say. Just as no one would have had anything to say if the centre-right led by the impatient Berlusconi had created a government with the 5S.
Instead the Di Maio-Salvini combination is out, as well as by the will of the voters, even from the preconceived patterns of globalization and in a Western democracy this is unacceptable.

The entire mainstream press is currently working hard to mock and discredit the figure of Giuseppe Conte, the Prime Minister whom Di Maio and Salvini would have chosen as guide for the new M5S-Lega executive which every day is infuriating both the markets and the merchants of the future. The criticism that appears to be the most popular among all is that it is a remote-controlled prime minister, at the head of an executive that he did not choose, in simple words a “wooden head” placed there in plain sight to slavishly carry out someone else's orders and nothing more....
Not knowing MR personally. Giuseppe Conte and having never seen him at work it is honestly difficult for me to say whether or not he is a "wooden head", while I would like to say a few words about his predecessors and the orders mentioned above.
The Prime Ministers who have succeeded one another in recent years in Italy have been figures of the caliber of D'Alema, Berlusconi, Study Program, Monti, Read, Renzi and Gentiloni, It doesn't matter if they are wooden heads or something else, but all slavishly committed to carrying out every directive given by Brussels with meticulous care, without uttering a word that goes beyond yes sir and without caring in the slightest what the moods of their reference parties and much less their voters were, when they had them.
Mr. Giuseppe Conte was chosen to be the guarantor of a “government contract” and certainly if he becomes prime minister he will have to move among them 60 pages that have been discussed so much in recent days. Unlike its predecessors however, Brussels did not write the program it will have to guarantee, but the two parties that won the elections wrote it, attempting to create a synthesis between their respective programs and represents the will of the majority of Italian citizens who went to the polls, not that of Brussels, of markets and big finance.
Remote controlled or not, I think the salient point is the figure of the person or people holding the remote control
And in light of the facts, judge for yourself whether there are differences compared to the past.

Italy is a strange country, we see "unified networks" broadsides raining down on the Government in the process of being formed and this happens precisely from people like Monti, Berlusconi, Bossi, Renzi, Study Program, Veltroni, Padoan and Cottarelli (FMI…), who since the time of the Moro murder have contributed to devastating the country, in ideology and practice, polluting its culture and exporting its well-being.
To name a few, the “Riforma Treu” of work which has brought precariousness to monstrous levels, compressing the economy and causing insecurity, the rules of entry of foreigners functional to the downward competition between Italians and foreigners regarding wages and social rights, the knowledge reforms which have weakened the role and figure of the teacher (inwards and outwards) and destroyed the civic sense of the country as well as the quality and meritocracy of the school, the contemporary and dramatic comparative flattening of the level of competitiveness of our universities implemented at the beginning of the millennium which made, moreover, i university baronies even more "expensive" and politicized, the “Divide et Impera” implemented by 1994 (acting on obsolete grudges and ideologies) which polarized Italians into "right" and "left" (theoretically appropriate dynamics) but transversally (!) given that the main division should have been between city instances (contemptuously defined as “populist”) real economic and those of speculative income, primarily those of the large financial corporations (rooted abroad) with their very powerful political-institutional-lobbying apparatus (…), the Bank of Italy/Treasury divorce, the privatization of banks and shares of Bankitalia (…), the next one theft of our gold reserve, the wild liberalizations of capital and supplies which have increased the cost of living, the emptying of the CGIL now reduced to a moribund business committee, the Franco-German financial technicalities passed off as “Europe” which have uprooted and are uprooting huge slices of well-being (tens of billions a year) with pro-bank and pro-multinational rules that have high unemployment and high taxation as their "net profit"., the ideological exaltation of globalization.
