Syria, another war "until proven otherwise"

WHAT THE EXTREME LEFT SAY ABOUT THE WAR IN SYRIA
Of Alberto Negri
Syria, another war "until proven otherwise"
Source: The Manifesto
Synthesis- “This was and is essentially the Syrian conflict: an attack on Tehran's major ally, to the only Arab country that sided with the ayatollahs in Saddam Hussein's war to Imam Khomeini in 1980. Whether it now also becomes a war against Russia depends on US intervention: it ranges from a limited option, like a year ago with the launch of missiles, to a broader one that risks putting Washington in conflict with Moscow.
Assad nel 2011 Everyone wanted to get rid of him: Turkey, the monarchies of the Gulf, the Americans and Israel, the state that benefits most from the disintegration of the Arab nations. A tragic game that never changes and which is now strengthened by the arrival of John Bolton as Security Advisor, who some time ago declared "that the best deal to make with Iran is to bomb it".
It raises the air of war on a war that never ends. We will see what the US will do now as it declares it wants to protect the Syrians from the regime's alleged chemical weapons. The US reaction appears probable at this time. Italy, if they don't use NATO bases, it would be out of play, and fortunately: the last time it joined the Allied raids was to bomb Gaddafi in Libya with the disastrous results we know. Italy is firmly anchored at the losers' table of the Second World War (like Germany without having the economic weight) and he has no say in the matter, not even at his house. It is good to remember this when we are trying to establish the usual government with limited sovereignty. Other than "sovereignism". Read More

We are slaves without chains? Huxley la chiamava 'dittatura dolce', an invisible and capillary manipulation

Of Enrica Perucchietti
We are slaves without chains? Huxley called it 'gentle dictatorship', an invisible and capillary manipulation

Aldous Huxley's lesson on the future

In a letter from 21 October 1949, the writer Aldous Huxley thanked the former Eton College student, George Orwell, for sending him a copy of his new novel, 1984. Huxley was enthusiastic about the manuscript but allowed himself to note the substantial difference between the "soft" model of dictatorship imagined by him 17 years earlier in the dystopian novel Il new world, and the dark and "sadistic" one described by Orwell, explaining what, according to him, would happen in the near future:
«I believe that oligarchies will find more efficient ways of governing and satisfying their thirst for power and will be similar to those described in The new world».
Huxley was convinced that rulers would take the form of “soft” dictatorship, asthey would have found in hypnotism, in infantile conditioning and in the pharmacological methods of psychiatry a decisive weapon to bend the minds and will of the masses.
A hypothesis that the English novelist would have confirmed in 1958 in his essay Return to the new world. In a nutshell, the power would soon be convinced to resort to hypnosis and techniques pharmacological conditioning to control and manipulate the masses, in order to implement what Huxley defined «the ultimate revolution»:
«Within the next generation, those who hold the reins of the world will discover that […] the thirst for power can be satisfied in its fullness by inducing people to love their state of slavery, rather than reducing them to obedience with whippings and kicks. In short, I think the nightmare described in 1984 is destined to evolve into the one described in The new world, if nothing else as a result of a need for greater efficiency".

Gentle manipulation: slaves without chains

Today we prefer repressive methods (Still) flank the “gentle” manipulation aimed at making citizens believe, according to Huxley's lesson, that they are free to choose when instead all their decisions are decided and oriented from above. In both models of totalitarianism, dark and sweet, it is though propaganda is essential of which the mainstream media acts as a docile sounding board. Nin fact, no regime can sustain itself without it, as well as, paradoxically, Western democracies resort precisely to the widespread manipulation of public opinion.
In democratic society, opinions, that is, the habits and choices of the masses are addressed, as he explained in 1928 Edward Bernays – considered the founder of Public Relations −, give a «invisible power that truly runs the country». According to Bernays, propaganda is essential to "give shape to chaos". The techniques used by those in power to shape public opinion have been invented and developed over the years, spiegava Bernays, «as society became more complex and the need for an invisible government proved increasingly necessary».

Invisible and widespread technological surveillance

What changes in current society compared to the one imagined by Orwell or the panoptic control system, is that social control, thanks on the one hand to technological surveillance (we had some taste of it with the scandal of Cambridge Analytica) and on the other to increasingly sophisticated propaganda techniques, it was done invisible, permanent and capillary and it affects everyone in what sociologist Marshall McLuhan called the “global village”. Today, thanks to a dense control network that also takes place thanks to the web, every individual can spy on others, even going so far as to "report" them and betray them, effectively siding with the invisible power (as in regimes). Everyone controls everyone and in fact order is maintained thanks to them to the approval of citizens who don't realize they are just pawns in a control scheme bigger than them.

Invisible government and mass manipulation

With the advent of modern mass society, power had to be exercised over an ever-increasing number of people. The art of control ended up becoming the science of Public Relations, Better, a "science of manipulation” of disconcerting refinement that manages to influence behaviors and ways of being, sometimes without even having to use physical coercion (let's think about the phenomenon of spin doctors).
As anticipated, Bernays spoke of "techniques used to frame public opinion" carried out by an "invisible government", echoing what he had already stated in 1884 British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli:
«The world is governed by completely different characters that those whose eye does not reach behind the scenes cannot even imagine».
Power today, to be more effective, in fact he prefers to remain "in the shadows", revealing itself as little as possible.
A hidden power, it has the undoubted "advantage" of remaining practically unassailable and hidden. Can Also, if you want, favor now one now the other of the "visible powers" and even, if he deems it necessary, promote two apparently opposing sides at the same time that they will be able to do so, more or less unconsciously, pursue differently the only end to which this Power aims (the method of Divide and Conquer).
In the end, a hidden power (or in any case not immediately identifiable by most) has the ability to do what no government or visible power can fully accomplish: manipulate mass feelings and mentality almost perfectly without giving the impression of doing so; control the people entering their imagination, that is, shaping minds, the consciences of individuals.

Fake news: divide to… censor

The question of control through the manipulation of the imagination and emotions of the masses that I talk about in Fake news (Arianna Publishing) è fondamentale per comprendere gli attuali attacchi alla libertà individuale di cui siamo testimoni in quest’epoca.
In fact, it fits into this scenario the current battle mainstream against the so-called fake news which seems to echo the work of Orwell's Miniver and seems to propose a new form of McCarthyism 2.0: that is, it is about a complex witch hunt aimed at repressing dissent. It exploits the issue of cyber bullying on the one hand and the spread of hoaxes on the web to lead to the approval of censorship of the Internet, leading to the hypothesis of the introduction of the crime of opinion, a modern form of thought crime.
The aim is to continue to manipulate public opinion and in particular those who are considered "mere spectators", that is, that flock (us, the people) what's going oriented in his choices so that he doesn't wake upand above all that he does not express his thoughts in a free and critical way. The purpose, quoting Chomsky again, is that «the disoriented flock continues not to orient itself» .

The three phases of immigration

Of Enrico Marino
The three phases of immigration
Source: Heretically

Immigration to Italy began as a hoax.
They told us that the phenomenon was epochal, that could not be stopped but only controlled. The young African masses could not be prevented, exuberant and continually expanding to arrive in a lazy Italy, fat and in demographic crisis. These new Italians would be the future, they would have been the ones who would have restored the state coffers with their work, paid our pensions and saved the country's economy. Furthermore, they explained to us that they had arrived practically at no cost, because those wretches 35 euros that cost them daily maintenance were provided by Europe which should have also accommodated the surplus flows, because all those migrants were only in transit but, actually, they would have liked to go north to look for work and reunite with relatives and friends. We then saw how things went and how Europe closed all its land borders, leaving our country to turn into a giant refugee camp, also taking on the costs.
Immigration to Italy continued as a scam. Read More

The American war in Syria? It will be the West's definitive disaster in the Middle East

Pressured by the Saudis and the Pentagon much more than by chemical weapons, Trump threatens intervention. Now he has two options: limited raids are scales (risky) large-scale operation. But more than a new war, it would be necessary to understand the problems of the Middle East. (Of Alberto Negri, LAWS)

People continue to die in Syria. Sign the online petition!

Reporting of Anna

In Syria the emergency continues!

And 6 years in Syria a terrible war destroys the lives of women, men, children and the elderly.
Bombings of homes and hospitals are the order of the day. The number of deaths, injured and displaced is dramatic and there is a desperately in need of medical attention.
Health facilities under attack, doctors killed, injured or fled the country, people who don't go to hospital for fear of being hit. Diseases that can be prevented or treated, now they lead to death. We are worried because of the intensification of the conflict most children have not been vaccinated and are at risk for diseases such as measles, rubella, tetanus or pneumonia.
Despite the limitations of access to the country, we treat war wounded and those who have suffered serious psychological trauma, we assist those suffering from chronic diseases and vaccinate children to prevent the spread of epidemics.
Help Doctors Without Borders intensify their efforts, sign the petition!

Do you want to give us an even bigger hand? Spread this petition as much as possible, sending the email to your friends or sharing the links on your social accounts.

The economic background behind Skripal's poisoning

The economic background behind Skripal's poisoning.
Source: Comedonchisciotte
Left Out, a podcast produced by Paul Sliker, Michael Palmieri and Dante Dallavalle, hosts in-depth conversations with the most interesting political thinkers and heterodox left-wing economists.
The Hudson Report is a new weekly series, with legendary economist Michael Hudson. In each episode we tackle an economic or political issue that has been ignored – or much debated – in the press that week.
In this episode we discuss the economic and political implications of the attempted assassination of former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal. We also mention the long history of collaboration between Russian oligarchs and Western banks, and how this fits into the broader neoliberal project pursued after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Michael Palmieri: Professor Hudson, Welcome back to the third episode of The Hudson Report. It's a pleasure to have you here.
Michael Hudson: Thanks for the invitation.
Michael Palmieri: At that time, In the last week a lot has been read about the case of Sergei Skripal and his daughter. It is said that Russian intelligence attempted to poison him, he who was a double agent of British intelligence. Although much of the media has already condemned Russia, she has a different perspective. So could you explain to us what is happening? Read More

Now Gentiloni will make many apologies to Putin?

Now Gentiloni will make many apologies to Putin?

Source: Maurizio Blondet
The accusation of the May government in Moscow, of having poisoned the former spy Skripal and his daughter, it's crumbling. Revealing itself for what it is: a huge state "fake news"., and maybe a false flag unsuccessful. Yesterday the news that the director of Porton Down (the British military laboratories for chemical-bacteriological weapons) he admitted: we don't have proof that the Novichock used (or that it would be used) against Skripal is of Russian origin.
The point is that the British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson he had assured, in a tweet from 22 March and immediately spread throughout the world, that “analyses conducted at the Porton Down War Science and Technology laboratory by world-class experts they found out that it is the military nerve agent Novichok produced in Russia”. In short, the government had committed the word of its world-famous scientists without having consulted them, and before they conducted the investigation.
