This morning I attended the puntata di Omnibus his 7, conducted by Frediano Finucci, and dedicated to the events of Macerata. Very lively episode during which I challenged the theses of some guests, in particular the exponent of Bonino's Più Europa list Piercamillo Falasca and the writer Fulvio Abbate. I particularly disapprove of the attempt to criminalize anyone who has reservations about uncontrolled immigration, because it is this discourse that is emerging on the left and supported by the narrative of many media, despite the fact that immigration is considered a threat by 60% of Italians, as emerged from the surveys explained in the studio by Elena Melchioni. The aim of the "progressive" world is to change collective judgment, leveraging the sense of guilt and suggesting that Luca Traini's gesture is not that of a deranged misfit, as I think, but rather the symptom of a resurgent fascism in Italy.
In the studio we have heard statements such as those according to which the soul of 80% of Italians is fascist (Abbate's word), which I strongly contested: thank goodness from 1945 the soul of Italians is profoundly democratic and the presence of such varied political lists proves it. Cataloging the vast majority of Italians as fascists is serious and unacceptable.
Falasca even proposed the equation, presenting it as a fact, that whoever is sovereign (and therefore he is against the European Union and for leaving the euro) he is racist and fascist. Another operation, shameful, of semantic manipulation.
I have the impression that these chaotic reactions from the left to the events in Macerata will end up backfiring on those who promote them, for a very simple reason. All common sense Italians, and they are almost all, they are horrified by Traini's crazy attempts at revenge, but many of them - in my opinion the majority - rebel against the exploitation of those, following a single episode, claims to open the doors of Italy to migrants and, above all, to silence those who say enough to uncontrolled immigration.
The more the left will give voice to the Savianos, to the Abbate and the Falasca and the more Matteo Salvini will gain support, instead of losing it. Remember this.
