Guareschi completes 110 years: here is the saga of Peppone and Don Camillo in comics

Reporting of Federici Studies Center
We remember the 110th anniversary of the birth of the timeless Giovannino Guareschi (1° maggio 1908) with an article that talks about a very successful comic book series dedicated to the "small world" .

Giovannino was born on May 1st 1908 and I already am 50 which is no longer there. A portrait of the writer and a comic episode of the Peppone and Don Camillo saga.
Giovannino completes 110 years – and it's been gone for years 50. In fact, fate wanted the anti-communist and conservative (in the sense in which every solid Po Valley farmer is) Guareschi saw the light on May 1st 1908, in a house in the Parma area where local socialists were celebrating Labor Day, and died in the summer of 1968: the most controversial year of the last century.
comedian, designer, journalist, writer, Giovanni Guareschi is universally known for the Mondo Piccolo/Peppone saga & Don Camillo (translated into 80 languages), made even more immortal by the films of Gino Cervi and Fernandel; but in reality his talents led to numerous prestigious communication adventures: from collaborations to the widespread humorous periodical «Bertoldo» (before the war) to the long and pugnacious direction of «Candido» (immediately afterwards), from fiery journalistic-political battles – we remember those with Einaudi and De Gasperi – to film scripts, from the illustration of famous electoral posters to the writing of countless books and stories.

Syria 1957: False Flag and history repeating itself

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

SYRIA: THE PRECEDENT
It's the 1957; American President Eisenhower and British Prime Minister Mcmillan decide that the time has come for "regime change" in Syria.
Shukri al-Quwatli the Syrian president who won the first democratic elections, the hero of independence was no longer reliable; it was getting too close to the Soviet Union and Washington and London could not risk losing control of Syrian oil, nor that Syria would become a communist stronghold in the Middle East.
And so the CIA and SIS were brought into play to study the best solution. And she was found: unleash a series of terrorist attacks in Damascus by pretending there was an ongoing revolt; carry out some targeted assassinations on the most influential figures in the government and a series of provocations at the Turkish borders, Iraqi and Jordanian forces that would push those nations to intervene.
CIA and SIS should have used “their capabilities in both the psychological and action fields”.
Among the Syrian government men to be killed, the first was Afif al-Bizri the Chief of Staff accused of being a man from Moscow.
The plan for "regime change" included funding for a "Free Syrian Committee" and weapons for "paramilitary political factions"; the forerunners of the current "Moderate Rebels".
The operation, now approved and executive, it ran aground due to Iraq and Jordan's refusal to launch a disastrous war in the Middle East.
The story of the attempted coup in Syria emerged a few years ago from the private documents of Duncan Sandys, Defense Secretary to the British Prime Minister and published by the Guardian.
The similarity with what is happening today is striking; but ultimately there is nothing new either in Syria or elsewhere.

Gaza and Syria: true crimes and alleged crimes

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

While the Trump administration seeks pretexts to attack the legitimate Syrian government, the USA in particular and the West in general turn a blind eye to the crimes of those who give 70 occupied the Holy Land for years.
Gaza: B’tselem’s harsh j’accus
Israel's leadership is gradually admitting a basic question of life and death: Israel's permanent control over millions of Palestinians is impossible without committing war crimes. This is the profound meaning of dominion over another people: it is not “simply” a question of robbing him of his land, to impose a regime made up of masters and subordinates, to deny political rights, or to unfold an endless labyrinth of oppressive bureaucratic rules. It's also a problem of repeated killings.
When the leader of Bayit Yehudi, Naphtali Bennett, in the summer of 2014, when hundreds of Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip by Israeli "surgical" bombs, declared in an interview with CNN that “Hamas is committing mass self-genocide”, thus arguing the actual implications of policies based on the use of military force by Israel. He attempted to make the crime acceptable by blaming the victim, but his recognition of the dimensions of the massacre – and even more so its profound meaning – reflected an internalization of reality.

Don Bosco: buono, not a do-gooder

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

An interesting court case in Valdocco
A letter to the magistrate of the city of Turin of 18 April 1865 opens an interesting and unprecedented glimpse into the daily life of Valdocco at the time. We are perhaps accustomed to thinking that in Valdocco, with the presence of Don Bosco, things always went well, especially in the fifties and early sixties when the Salesian work had not yet spread and Don Bosco lived in direct and constant contact with the children. Instead later, with a large heterogeneous mass of young people, educators, apprentice craftsmen, young students, novices, students of philosophy and theology, evening school students, “external” workers, difficulties could have arisen in the disciplinary management of the Valdocco community.
A rather serious fact
A letter to the magistrate of the city of Turin of 18 April 1865 opens an interesting and unprecedented glimpse into the daily life of Valdocco at the time. We reproduce it and then comment on it.

Gli evangelici finanziano l'immigrazione ebraica in Israele

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

About a third of diaspora Jewish migration to Israel is subsidized by U.S. evangelicals. Who thus want to hasten the advent of the Kingdom of God.
Evangelical Christians, major voters in the United States of President Donald Trump, they now finance about a third of the migration of diaspora Jews to Israel. This is revealed by the figures relating to 2017, published by the Israeli digital newspaper Ynetnews. They are 28 thousand Jews who made aliyah last year, or the ascent-return to the "promised land", at least 8.500 they benefited from funds officially raised by Christian organizations, who have become partners of the Jewish Agency with the aim of bringing the "exiles" back to the Israeli homeland. Money that doesn't just cover travel expenses, but also and above all those of inclusion in the new society, with social subsidies and aid for the construction of new houses. The two main groups of evangelical Christians committed to the Jewish cause are the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (Ifcj) e l’International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem.

Per un'azione politica e sociale integralmente cattolica

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

“Against everything that is opposed to the doctrine, to tradition, to discipline, to the feeling of the Catholicwe are entirely Roman; for everything that complies with it"
The program of Monsignor Umberto Benigni's Sodalitium Pianum
1 We are integral Roman Catholics. As this word indicates, the integral Roman Catholic accepts the doctrine in its entirety, to the discipline, the directions of the Holy See and all their legitimate consequences for the individual and for society. It is "daddy", "clerical", antimodern, anti-liberal, anti-sectarian. He is therefore entirely counter-revolutionary, because he is an opponent not only of the Jacobin Revolution and of sectarian radicalism, but equally of religious and social liberalism. It is absolutely understood that by saying "integral Roman Catholic", it is not at all intended to modify in any way the authentic and glorious title of Roman Catholic. The word "integral" means only "wholly Roman Catholic", that is, fully and simply Roman Catholic without the corresponding additions or restrictions (even outside the intention of those who use it) as much to the expressions of "liberal Catholic", «social Catholic», and any other, as to the fact of those who tend to restrict in theory or in practice the application of the rights of the Church and the duties of the Catholic in religious and social life.
