Guareschi completes 110 years: here is the saga of Peppone and Don Camillo in comics

Reporting of Federici Studies Center
We remember the 110th anniversary of the birth of the timeless Giovannino Guareschi (1° maggio 1908) with an article that talks about a very successful comic book series dedicated to the "small world" .

Giovannino was born on May 1st 1908 and I already am 50 which is no longer there. A portrait of the writer and a comic episode of the Peppone and Don Camillo saga.
Giovannino completes 110 years – and it's been gone for years 50. In fact, fate wanted the anti-communist and conservative (in the sense in which every solid Po Valley farmer is) Guareschi saw the light on May 1st 1908, in a house in the Parma area where local socialists were celebrating Labor Day, and died in the summer of 1968: the most controversial year of the last century.
comedian, designer, journalist, writer, Giovanni Guareschi is universally known for the Mondo Piccolo/Peppone saga & Don Camillo (translated into 80 languages), made even more immortal by the films of Gino Cervi and Fernandel; but in reality his talents led to numerous prestigious communication adventures: from collaborations to the widespread humorous periodical «Bertoldo» (before the war) to the long and pugnacious direction of «Candido» (immediately afterwards), from fiery journalistic-political battles – we remember those with Einaudi and De Gasperi – to film scripts, from the illustration of famous electoral posters to the writing of countless books and stories.

Syria 1957: False Flag and history repeating itself

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

SYRIA: THE PRECEDENT
It's the 1957; American President Eisenhower and British Prime Minister Mcmillan decide that the time has come for "regime change" in Syria.
Shukri al-Quwatli the Syrian president who won the first democratic elections, the hero of independence was no longer reliable; it was getting too close to the Soviet Union and Washington and London could not risk losing control of Syrian oil, nor that Syria would become a communist stronghold in the Middle East.
And so the CIA and SIS were brought into play to study the best solution. And she was found: unleash a series of terrorist attacks in Damascus by pretending there was an ongoing revolt; carry out some targeted assassinations on the most influential figures in the government and a series of provocations at the Turkish borders, Iraqi and Jordanian forces that would push those nations to intervene.
CIA and SIS should have used “their capabilities in both the psychological and action fields”.
Among the Syrian government men to be killed, the first was Afif al-Bizri the Chief of Staff accused of being a man from Moscow.
The plan for "regime change" included funding for a "Free Syrian Committee" and weapons for "paramilitary political factions"; the forerunners of the current "Moderate Rebels".
The operation, now approved and executive, it ran aground due to Iraq and Jordan's refusal to launch a disastrous war in the Middle East.
The story of the attempted coup in Syria emerged a few years ago from the private documents of Duncan Sandys, Defense Secretary to the British Prime Minister and published by the Guardian.
The similarity with what is happening today is striking; but ultimately there is nothing new either in Syria or elsewhere.

Gaza and Syria: true crimes and alleged crimes

While the Trump administration seeks pretexts to attack the legitimate Syrian government, the USA in particular and the West in general turn a blind eye to the crimes of those who give 70 occupied the Holy Land for years.
Gaza: B’tselem’s harsh j’accus
Israel's leadership is gradually admitting a basic question of life and death: Israel's permanent control over millions of Palestinians is impossible without committing war crimes. This is the profound meaning of dominion over another people: it is not “simply” a question of robbing him of his land, to impose a regime made up of masters and subordinates, to deny political rights, or to unfold an endless labyrinth of oppressive bureaucratic rules. It's also a problem of repeated killings.
When the leader of Bayit Yehudi, Naphtali Bennett, in the summer of 2014, when hundreds of Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip by Israeli "surgical" bombs, declared in an interview with CNN that “Hamas is committing mass self-genocide”, thus arguing the actual implications of policies based on the use of military force by Israel. He attempted to make the crime acceptable by blaming the victim, but his recognition of the dimensions of the massacre – and even more so its profound meaning – reflected an internalization of reality.

Don Bosco: buono, not a do-gooder

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

An interesting court case in Valdocco
A letter to the magistrate of the city of Turin of 18 April 1865 opens an interesting and unprecedented glimpse into the daily life of Valdocco at the time. We are perhaps accustomed to thinking that in Valdocco, with the presence of Don Bosco, things always went well, especially in the fifties and early sixties when the Salesian work had not yet spread and Don Bosco lived in direct and constant contact with the children. Instead later, with a large heterogeneous mass of young people, educators, apprentice craftsmen, young students, novices, students of philosophy and theology, evening school students, “external” workers, difficulties could have arisen in the disciplinary management of the Valdocco community.
A rather serious fact
A letter to the magistrate of the city of Turin of 18 April 1865 opens an interesting and unprecedented glimpse into the daily life of Valdocco at the time. We reproduce it and then comment on it.

Gli evangelici finanziano l'immigrazione ebraica in Israele

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

About a third of diaspora Jewish migration to Israel is subsidized by U.S. evangelicals. Who thus want to hasten the advent of the Kingdom of God.
Evangelical Christians, major voters in the United States of President Donald Trump, they now finance about a third of the migration of diaspora Jews to Israel. This is revealed by the figures relating to 2017, published by the Israeli digital newspaper Ynetnews. They are 28 thousand Jews who made aliyah last year, or the ascent-return to the "promised land", at least 8.500 they benefited from funds officially raised by Christian organizations, who have become partners of the Jewish Agency with the aim of bringing the "exiles" back to the Israeli homeland. Money that doesn't just cover travel expenses, but also and above all those of inclusion in the new society, with social subsidies and aid for the construction of new houses. The two main groups of evangelical Christians committed to the Jewish cause are the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (Ifcj) e l’International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem.

An unworthy superstition

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

The "celestial fire" of dissidents on Holy Saturday
Dal 1810, the walls of the Angel chapel are crossed by two oval skylights. They serve the non-united Greek and Armenian high clergy, to communicate the famous sacred fire to the outside. People are made to believe that on Holy Saturday fire descends from heaven or is brought by an angel to the Holy Sepulcher. The Greek bishop and the Armenian bishop lock themselves in the chapel of the Angel, and when, after a long wait, the Greek bishop passes the claimed miraculous flame through the skylight, thousands of Greeks, of Russians, of Armenians, of Copts, and Abyssinians, full of enthusiasm, they let out wild screams and rush in indescribable disorder towards the skylights to quickly light their candles and torches. The Turkish soldiers (now Israelis, ndr), responsible for maintaining order, they are often helpless against these frenzied hordes, and it is not uncommon for the hateful Saturnalia caused by this unworthy superstition, are not marked by serious accidents. In 1834, more than 400 corpses were scattered in the churchyard of the basilica following this "religious festival". With a short dated 1238, Pope Gregory IX denounced the so-called sacred fire as a superstition.

Translation of the text of the “Guide to the Holy Land” by Father Barnabé Meistermann, ofm, pages. 798, Franciscan Editions, Paris 1936, with the imprimatur of the Custodian of the Holy Land Father Nazzareno Jacopozzi.

The tombs of the Latin Kings in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre

Image results for tombs of latin kings basilica of the holy sepulchreReporting of Federici Studies Center

Holy Land – The tombs of the Latin kings destroyed by the Greek schismatics
The tombs of the Latin Kings in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre
The significance of the Basilica of the Resurrection for the Crusaders and for the institutions they introduced in the East does not require new confirmation: however the topic always deserves a few "stops", especially when it happens – as in the current case – say dealing with an archaeological trace of which little more than a memory now remains, which however does not deserve total oblivion on the part of the pilgrim.
Godfrey of Bouillon, founder of the Crusader state in 1099, and the subsequent kings up to Baldwin V were buried in the Anastasi basilica which was also used for this purpose until 1187, when the Islamic reconquest of Jerusalem forced the capital to be moved to Acre, except for some periods that were not sufficient to restore the custom of Jerusalem burial; it was obvious that those burials were housed in the same Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher in which the same kings had been crowned, with the exception of Baldwin I who in 1100 he had worn the royal diadem in Bethlehem in a period of conflict with the patriarch of the Holy City. Godfrey of Bouillon, even with his refusal to be proclaimed king and the preference given to the title of "advocate of the Holy Sepulchre", he had established the vital link between the new state institution and the tomb of the Redeemer; of the rest, her qualification as "lawyer" remained substantially unchanged under her successors, monarchs in all respects.

The true story of Blessed Simonino da Trento, Innocent and Martyr and of his cult

Image results for Simonino da TrentoReporting of Federici Studies Center

Il 24 March the Church celebrated San Simonino di Trento: we remember him with the review of a book relating to the martyrdom he suffered “cruelly slaughtered by the Jews" (Roman Martyrology) In the 1475.
Of don Ugolino Giugni
Much has been written, in the past, on Blessed Simonino da Trento and still today, despite the "suppression" of his cult he is at the center of scholarly interest. In the 2007 The book “Bloody Easter” by Ariel Toaff caused quite a stir, son of the great rabbi of Rome Elio, in which the author scientifically and historically addressed the issue of "blood culture" in Jewish popular traditions and beliefs in the Middle Ages. This “blood accusation”, according to Toaff, emerges precisely from the minutes of the trials for the charge of "ritual murder" (of which precisely that of Trento 1475 concerning the blessed Simonino is one of the most famous), against the Ashkenazi Jews of Trentino.
What Toaff writes to explain his research method is very interesting, as he certainly cannot be accused of being biased and anti-Semitic: «I would like to point out that in my research I mainly intended to investigate the role occupied by the so-called "blood culture" in the German-speaking Jewish world, as in the surrounding society. A multipurpose role, therapeutic, magical, superstitious, alchemical, which was independent of the severe, biblical and rabbinic prohibition on the consumption of blood. Basically, I set out to check how, also on this point, the practice, shaped by external influences, had changed the law and what the consequences would have been, unexpected or predictable, in the context of the open and harsh confrontation with the Christian communities.

Ghouta terrorists massacre more civilians in Damascus

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

The West of anti-terrorism chalks, defends the terrorist gangs entrenched in eastern Ghouta, who continue to sow death and destruction among the population of Damascus.
In Damascus the jihadists carry out a massacre, but the West continues to support them
Today, 20 March, 35 civilians died and at least 40 injured by a missile launched by terrorists, entrenched in Ghouta, on the Khashkoul market in the Jaramana neighborhood, as well as causing great destruction of buildings and property in the location. Other rockets launched from Ghouta fell on Mezzeh and hit the churches of Bab Touma.
Syria: the West continues to drink from the source of jihadist propaganda
As happened during the Libyan war of 2011 and as has been happening for seven years now in Syria, since the civil war began, it is jihadist propaganda that inspires the international community and the media world. As happened in Aleppo and today in Eastern Ghouta, the West is outraged by the massacres of civilians caused by Bashar Assad's forces and ignores the deaths caused by the rebels, pressing to establish truces and ceasefires which will benefit the jihadist militias.
Incidentally, the same ones that ideologically support the Islamic State governed by sharia and support and justify terrorism and jihad against infidels (that is, us) which affects the USA and Europe.
