Today the Church celebrates Saint Thomas Aquinas, glory of the Dominican Order and Catholic theology, defined by mgr. Umberto Benigni in the "Social History of the Church" giant of orthodoxy and the dolomitic Aquinas. Saint Thomas was one of the saints invoked especially by the members of the Sodalitium Pianum, association founded by Msgr. Benigni to apply the anti-modernist program outlined by Saint Pius, including the defense of Thomism opposed by the modernists. In honor of Saint Thomas we publish some paragraphs dedicated to the Dominican Order taken from the "Social History of the Church" (The medieval crisis, vol. V, Vallardi Publishing House, pages. 633 e 634).

We publish an excerpt from the book "Christians halved" (Rusconi Publisher, 1972) by the writer Orsola Nemi (Firenze, 11 June 1903 – La Spezia, 8 February 1985).

But how much would it be worth to deserve the title of civilian to a people, that in it hygiene and comfort reached the perfection existing in the palace of a North American millionaire, if morality was lacking in that people; so are its institutions, laws and customs were immoral or even amoral, that is, they made or allowed immorality to triumph? Such a people would give the spectacle of one of those stately stables, where you can admire the cleanliness, convenience, the luxury in which elegant and expensive draft and racing beasts live.

The infoibata memory: communist crimes in Isola d'Istria

List of missing people from Isola d'Istria since 1943 al 1945

(…) In the notes that Luigi Drioli, my father, left to remember the atrocities of those sad days, a list appears of people who were arrested and tortured by the Titoites and whose end was never known with certainty. In most cases these are people who had no specific responsibilities and there were no charges against them: some carried out the work of municipal guards, of municipal employees, of workers, of trade unionists, of firefighters, and many came from various parts of Italy and were ordered to carry out their work in Isola d'Istria in the various administrations. Some arrests, with their tragic consequences, they also happened after the war was over, in peacetime, without any justification. I think the list is incomplete and contains some inaccuracies, but unfortunately too many years have passed and I have not been able to trace people present at that time. I added a lot of data and some names after various searches (…). Victorina (Grazia) Drioli.

Attilio Benvenuti known as Furia

Born on 28 August 1899. Arrested in Trieste on 7 maggio 1945 in Piazza Venezia. Translated to the Jesuit prison. Transferred to Isola d'Istria and Koper. Then disappeared.

On the site www.isfida.it it reads: WELCOME Attilio (said Fury) by Almerigo and Anna Paoli, born in Isola d'Istria on 28-9-1899. Arrested in Trieste Piazza Venezia on 5-5-1945 and deported to an unknown destination. News provided by his wife Ada Mossut who lives in Trieste in via Vercellio n.9 near Borsatti.
