What Saint Francis really said to Sultan El-Kamel?

Saint Francis of Assisi: an anti-pacifist ode

Saint Francis never proposed a pacifist Christianity. He was undoubtedly for peace, ma, da santo, it couldn't have been for pacifism. Being peaceful means believing that peace (first and foremost with God) is an important value; being a pacifist means believing that peace is the highest value; and this is wrong because peace (as the absence of war) must be subordinated to the value of justice.
After the conversion, the entire life of the Saint of Assisi was marked by the anxiety of saving sinners and as regards non-Christians he was not interested in "dialogue" but in conversion.
Regarding the meeting with Sultan Melek-el-Kamel there are two important testimonies: that of Tommaso da Celano (the most famous biographer of Saint Francis) and that of Enlightened Friar, eyewitness of the meeting between Saint Francis and the sultan. Read More

Putin: “Christianity is the root of Russian identity”

Too bad that it is Orthodoxy or the schismatic and heretical Orthodox Church. However, the political meaning of the statement is important because Putin links the root of Russian identity to Christianity. They did it in Italy too…obviously not with the councilors…(n.d.r.)
Reporting of G.B.
The president of Russia indicates "Christianization" as the country's identity matrix, of its strength and its historical protagonism. Criticism and alarm from circles that in the past enthusiastically supported the "cultural battles" to reaffirm the roots of the West
Of Gianni Valente per The Press
Last Sunday, in the churches of Russia, of Ukraine and other countries once included in the Russian Empire, many Christians celebrated the feast for 1130 years since the baptism of Prince Vladimir the Great in the waters of the Dnieper River, also renewing their baptismal promises. Russian President Vladimir Putin also took advantage of the anniversary of that historic event - celebrated as the beginning of the conversion to Christianity of the Eastern Slavs - to forcefully repeat that l he "Christianization" of the Grand Prince of ancient Kievan Rus' and his subjects also represents the founding act of "Russian statehood", and the perennial root that nourishes the identity of the Russian people and its historical mission in the world.
Putin – who of the ancient monarch baptized in Kherson in 988 also bears the name - reaffirmed the connection in his visceral opinion between Christianity and Russian identity while speaking at the ceremony held on Sunday in Moscow, in the presence of Patriarch Kirill, at the monument dedicated to Prince Vladimir. The presidential speech, calibrated in every word, he proposed "Christianization" at the highest levels as Russia's identity matrix, of its strength and its historical protagonism. Read More

There's no going back? Dear Cirinnà, here are the numbers of the myths of progress

Image results for male and female God created them
“There is no going back on rights”. With these words the icon of the law of civil unions made his new media debut, Monica Cirinnà.
Obviously the controversial reference is entirely aimed at the minister of the Fontana family, guilty of having brought conceptual and cultural order to a topic that is too often the subject of propaganda and ideological manipulation, especially on the part of secularists.
The message is clear: this yellow-green government is turning the clock back on history, and stops the civil conquests of the Renzi and Gentiloni governments (“voted” by the people no?).
What did the new minister Fontana say that was so negative?? That rainbow families do not exist and that family is one, the natural one, provided for in the Constitution (item 29). And for Italy to start again, it must reduce the birth rate and focus on life, considering abortion a plague. And Cirinnà, not by chance, on the occasion of Prime Minister Conte's speech she appeared in the Chamber wearing a t-shirt praising gay families. Just to warm the spirits and stir up the fibrillations of the new majority who see Northern League members and Grillini as belonging to opposite sides on the subject (at least on paper). Read More
