The novel The never-ending story, released in 1979, tells the story of little Bastiano, one little boy left orphan of the mother and in complicated relationships with the father, who through reading a mystical book rediscovers the path to life. A life that is not an end in itself, but capable of saving a parallel universe at the same time, Fantasy to be precise, progressively eroded by a mysterious entity (il Nothing) which is leading it to inevitable extinction.
Fantàsia is the allegory of human creativity: a true thermometer of men's ability to dream, of their tendency to set themselves spiritual objectives - even before material ones - which may appear impossible but which can constitute the leitmotif of their very existence.
