Italy challenges the EU with Marshall plan from 82 billion

Italy challenges the EU with Marshall plan from 82 billionReport Wall Street Italia
After the collapse of the Morandi Bridge, which resulted in the death of at least 43 people, the Conte government has developed a maxi investment plan from 82 billion to renew Italian infrastructure.
Shortly after the collapse of the A10 viaduct in Genoa, the Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini, leader of the League, attributed the responsibility for the catastrophe to the austerity policies imposed by the EU.
From there the idea of the yellow-green government was born: invest all the money necessary to ensure the safety of the roads, of the railways, of schools, of hospitals, regardless of the limits of the budget constraints deemed "crazy" by Salvini and other Euro-skeptical representatives of the majority.
At the same time the EU denied any culpability, recalling that the European Commission had actually assigned 2,5 billions of euros in subsidies to Italy between 2014 and the 2020 within the framework of piano Juncker aimed precisely at financing works to improve infrastructure or create new structures.
An investment project from 82 billions of euros

After the tragedy of Genoa the Minister of Finance Giovanni Tria, which so far has shown itself to be relatively accommodating towards Europe, he mentioned the so-called “golden rule” dear to former Prime Minister Gordon Brown and urged the national authorities and his colleagues to put in place an ambitious plan to renew the country's transport system and infrastructure, without dealing with the Italian budget deficit.
By resorting to the golden rule, the government temporarily authorizes itself to exceed budget constraints, but limited to investment expenses. The Italian coalition wants to take back the project of the previous government led by Prime Minister Gentiloni, which he predicted 82 billions of euros of long-term investments.
But the government's strategy for dealing with these huge expenses is not yet known.

Behind the scenes on the Rai presidency

While Marcello Foa declares to remain in his capacity “senior advisor”, the usually well-informed D'Agostino tells some interesting background, of which we were also partly aware (n.d.r.):
SALVINI'S HOSTILE OBSERVATION FOR "FORZA ITALIA": THE DOORS OF THE LEAGUE ARE OPEN FOR LOCAL ADMINISTRATORS WHO DECIDE TO QUIT BERLUSCONI – THE CAV, WHO WOULD HAVE WANTED TO MEDIATE ON FOA, HE WAS WITH HIS BACK TO THE WALL: TAJANI HAS THREATENED TO RESIGN IN CASE OF SURRENDER TO SALVINI – AND WITH HIM, IN THE FRONT ROW, GHEDINI WAS AGAINST THE LEAGUE – THE RISK OF APPOINTMENTS

Now the doors of the League will open, indeed they will open wide for the local administrators of Forza Italia. And according to the Northern League there are many who are knocking on Matteo Salvini's door, the "Captain" who has his political sails full of good electoral winds. While they see the floppy blue ones, with l’ Admiral of the’ former blue ship in disarmament, listless, little interested in the opposition naval battle in the yellow-green waters. So far l’ agreement between Silvio Berlusconi and Matteo Salvini was not to go to war: no openings to parliamentarians, to regional and municipal councilors. Read More

Luigi Bisignani at IL TEMPO: Matteo's secret plan

Image results for the man who whispered to the powerfulL’“man who whispers to the powerful” expresses his opinion in one of his usual Sunday letters to the editor of The weather, second newspaper of the capital. The reader will wonder why these sporadic spaces are given to those who are extremely distant from our positions in many respects. Well, after meeting him, the reason is easy to say: l’ “man who whispers to the powerful” can say things, sometimes, more interesting than others. No offense to those who don't whisper anything to anyone… On the contrary…(N.d.R.)
Of Luigi Bisignani
Dear director, Matteo Salvini, like a lion in the savannah, sniffs the air and prepares the next attack to conquer more and more territory. The first moves went better than expected and now that it has placed the immigration front at the center of the European debate, among other things, ridiculing Macron and taking Merkel's applause, can handle “from above” relations with his allies, Forza Italia and Brothers of Italy, who, in order not to be destroyed, will do everything not to turn him against each other. The Movement 5 position, weakened for a number of reasons, first of all the internal struggles between the Grillo-Di Battista-Fico group and the Di Maio-Bonafede-Casaleggio group that have been tearing it apart since they began to smell the scent of power, loses more and more consensus. With a savannah with such an arid landscape, the lion Salvini is secretly preparing his plan B: it will be taken, in one shot, those disappointed by Berlusconi, of Meloni but above all a part of that Grillino electorate who can no longer tolerate that summary justice and facade environmentalism that blocks investments and new infrastructures.
