Unicef, Pulitzer Foundation and other Australian and American non-profit organizations believed they could finance the projects of the Play Therapy Africa association aimed at starving children in Africa with ten million dollars. Actually, according to the reconstruction of the Florentine Prosecutor's Office, only a small part of that colossal sum would have been used for humanitarian purposes. Quasi 6,6 millions of dollars would have passed through the traceable private accounts, in various capacities, to the Andrea brothers, brother-in-law of former Prime Minister Renzi, Alessandro and Luca Conticini for the purchase of a house in Portugal and to finance Eventi6, Quality Press Italia e Dot Media, companies attributable to the Renzi family or early supporters of the former prime minister.

But not all that money, believes the Prosecutor's Office, can be considered compensation for the activity carried out by Alessandro Conticini, owner of Play Therapy Africa Limited and former director of Unicef ​​in Addis Ababa, and his collaborators. For over two years, Alessandro and his brothers are under investigation, in various capacities, for recycling, car laundering and embezzlement. But the legal case has now been enriched with new chapters. In wood, in the autumn 2017, they would have liked to clarify the matter to the investigators. A first interrogation scheduled for December was canceled by the Prosecutor's Office, explains defender Federico Bagattini. But it also developed due to the suspicions raised by Monika Jephcott, former head office manager of Play Therapy London on how Play Therapy Africa used its money, subsidiary founded by Alessandro Conticini who had obtained permission to use the same name and to which he subsequently, but, the director revoked the authorization. But this is not enough now. Based on an amendment to the penal code (came into force in April) it is possible to start an investigation for aggravated embezzlement only if there is a report from the offended parties. As, the Prosecutor's Office notified Unicef, Pulitzer Foundation and seven other international humanitarian organizations of law reform, inviting them to file a complaint: only in this way can the process proceed.
