The Conte government has obtained confidence, by a wide margin, in the House and Senate, but above all it was born with broad popular support. In fact, the polls attribute this to the two political forces that express it, Five Stars and League, about the 60% of suffrages. However, no government like this has been opposed by almost all of the Italian mass media.
Antonio Socci has well described this "universal prejudice" above Libero (3 June), while Marco Travaglio, are The Daily Fact (6 June), published a long anthology of the heavy judgments reserved for the nascent government by almost all the newspapers, left and right.
Conte was accused of being a «friend of the people like Marat» (Corriere della Sera, 18 maggio) and to prepare «a Venezuelan future» for Italy (The Sheet 16 maggio). «There is an Italian case in the West», wrote the director of The Press (27 maggio), while for the director of Republic, «the mixture of inexperience, improvisation and arrogance will not take long to emerge. This ideological factionalism has translated into violent intolerance towards the new Minister of the Family, Lorenzo Fontana, guilty of speaking out in favor of the natural family, protected by the article 29 of the Constitution, of having detected the existence of a demographic crisis in Italy and of having participated in the March for Life of 19 maggio.
