Il 24 March the Church celebrated San Simonino di Trento: we remember him with the review of a book relating to the martyrdom he suffered “cruelly slaughtered by the Jews" (Roman Martyrology) In the 1475.

Much has been written, in the past, on Blessed Simonino da Trento and still today, despite the "suppression" of his cult he is at the center of scholarly interest. In the 2007 The book “Bloody Easter” by Ariel Toaff caused quite a stir, son of the great rabbi of Rome Elio, in which the author scientifically and historically addressed the issue of "blood culture" in Jewish popular traditions and beliefs in the Middle Ages. This “blood accusation”, according to Toaff, emerges precisely from the minutes of the trials for the charge of "ritual murder" (of which precisely that of Trento 1475 concerning the blessed Simonino is one of the most famous), against the Ashkenazi Jews of Trentino.
What Toaff writes to explain his research method is very interesting, as he certainly cannot be accused of being biased and anti-Semitic: «I would like to point out that in my research I mainly intended to investigate the role occupied by the so-called "blood culture" in the German-speaking Jewish world, as in the surrounding society. A multipurpose role, therapeutic, magical, superstitious, alchemical, which was independent of the severe, biblical and rabbinic prohibition on the consumption of blood. Basically, I set out to check how, also on this point, the practice, shaped by external influences, had changed the law and what the consequences would have been, unexpected or predictable, in the context of the open and harsh confrontation with the Christian communities.

Monday 19 March at 18.00 in the chapel of the Montfort Missionaries of Arbizzano (VR) the Christus Rex Club met to pray to SAINT JOSEPH, PATRON OF THE CHURCH. They recited the Sacred Mantle, the Litanies and invocations, the prayer of Saint Pius, after a brief instruction on the figure of the greatest of all the Saints, guardian and protector of the Holy Family, example of domestic virtues, example for all workers, example of a model husband and father. And the, O blessed Joseph, gripped by tribulation we resort and confidently invoke your patronage, together with that of your most holy Bride.
Deh! For that sacred bond of charity, who held you close to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and for the paternal love you brought to the child Jesus, regard, we beg you, with a benign eye, the dear inheritance that Jesus Christ purchased with his blood, and with your power and help assist our needs.

Today the Church celebrates Saint Thomas Aquinas, glory of the Dominican Order and Catholic theology, defined by mgr. Umberto Benigni in the "Social History of the Church" giant of orthodoxy and the dolomitic Aquinas. Saint Thomas was one of the saints invoked especially by the members of the Sodalitium Pianum, association founded by Msgr. Benigni to apply the anti-modernist program outlined by Saint Pius, including the defense of Thomism opposed by the modernists. In honor of Saint Thomas we publish some paragraphs dedicated to the Dominican Order taken from the "Social History of the Church" (The medieval crisis, vol. V, Vallardi Publishing House, pages. 633 e 634).

We publish an excerpt from the book "Christians halved" (Rusconi Publisher, 1972) by the writer Orsola Nemi (Firenze, 11 June 1903 – La Spezia, 8 February 1985).

Arquata del Tronto (province of Ascoli Piceno) it is a small village of approx 1.600 inhabitants, which almost climbs 800 meters above sea level. The earthquake of approx 2 years ago he destroyed it almost entirely.
After the earthquake, rescuers found an intact tabernacle under a collapsed church, which was placed by the Carabinieri in a warehouse so that it would not be lost.
A few days ago (more than a year and a half after the earthquake) the Carabinieri returned the tabernacle (which had remained locked) to the parish priest, who after opening it found the pyx still closed with approximately 40 hosts completely intact, without any trace of mold or aging of the Sacred Species. The whole sentence, in two verses, it sounds like this: "Which [Jews] they even put the Lord Jesus to death [“They killed the Lord Jesus”] and the Prophets and they persecuted us too; they do not please God [“Deo non place”] and they are enemies of all men [“they are opposed to all men”], preventing us from preaching to the Pagans so that they can be saved. In this way they fill the measure of their sins! But now the wrath of God has reached its peak on their heads [“for the wrath of God came upon them to the end”]”.

The Commentary of St. Tommaso d’Aquino

Let's see the comment made by S. Tommaso d’Aquino: «It doesn't matter if the Romans killed him, because it was the Jews themselves who with their cries asked Pilate to crucify him. […]. Then the Apostle speaks of the Prophets of the Old Testament about whom it is also written in Acts of the Apostles (VII, 52): “Which of the Prophets did your fathers not persecute??
