More than the world family congress, scheduled in Verona at the end of the month, affects hysterical mobilization, ideological and intolerant nature of the Italian left, of its aircraft carriers in the press, against the family and its context. We can disagree about the role of the family, and even more so on the demonstrations in his favor; but it cannot be defined as subversive the defense of the family, evoke fanaticism, extremism and totalitarianism to disqualify those who promote it, and then reduce life principles and practices to "shit"., of faith and culture like God, homeland and family that denote the history of humanity and of every civilization. There is a sense of something barbaric and bestial, a vulgar tavern nihilism, an erupting and obtuse progressivism in the positions taken against the family, against love of country and against faith in God. No one expects that even in these cases the crime of opinion will be sanctioned for those who insult and vilify these principles and these historical experiences, as happens today in the name of racism, of xenophobia, of sexism and homophobia. Today we can blaspheme God and the Madonna, the Homeland and the Family, insult the Father and the Mother who gives birth to children, but it is a crime to offend other people's religions and homelands, gays and lesbians, neri, Roma and migrants, and some pages of stories are under criminal protection (while other horrors do not). No one is asking for the crime of blasphemy to be reintroduced, o blasphemy or insult to patriotism and family love is punished in accordance with the law.
But let us not underestimate and let us not quickly forget the importance of these demonstrations and these messages, not by isolated and deranged people, but of processions, with signs, slogans and banners, and of parliamentary representatives who have had legislative responsibilities in government parties, with the supportive and complicit silence-assent of leaders, parties, press and propaganda. Even more so since the barrage and the request to deny that patronage to the world congress of families, which is normally given by institutions to the most colorful LGBT events, gay-pride, lesbians and transit personnel, they risk growing close to or during the Verona event. If the family is also defended by small right-wing radical groups, demonization occurs automatically and due to the transitive property it affects anyone who defends the family; but for that matter, the feminist and anti-family demonstrations are shared by antagonistic subversive groups, anarcho-insurrectionists, social centers, self-employed and illegal occupants of public spaces, demonstrators with covered faces and blunt objects... But no one would dream of banning or in any case preventing feminist and anti-family marches and demonstrations just because they are shared by those groups. The disparity of reactions, of freedom and composure seems evident to us. And then they accuse populists and sovereignists of fomenting hatred and embezzlement.
Miserable and obsessive is the reductio ad ducem of those who defend the family, God and country; foundations of civilization like those cannot be reduced to fascism. The common trait that unites the promoters of family days is, if anything, Catholic inspiration. In reality, with the excuse of fascism or Salvini they also criminalize conservatives, the supporters of tradition and the non-Bergoglian Catholics. And they criminalize the world of our fathers and mothers, where we come from.
But leaving the folklore, the crude controversy and public intimidation towards those who simply demonstrate in favor of the natural family, of birth, of tradition, a great man remains standing, huge question: but the family can be banished, birth and procreation according to nature from the horizons of a civil society, free and projected into the future? The family can be considered a prehistoric hotbed of subversion, despotism and regression? It is possible that reality, nature, the experience of history, even before the thought, the feeling, faith, can be cancelled, removed, mocked and trampled on in this very blatant and crude way? It can be considered that humanity has until now lived in "shit", in evil and ignorance and only now, thanks to four cats and four laws, has finally redeemed herself, liberated and civilized? That is, you can have such a grim look, presumptuous and small who cannot judge beyond the meter of the present, condemning everything that was life and culture, nature and tradition, faith and practice for millennia? No sane man imagines or hopes that the family will remain unchanged and embalmed over the centuries, it is evident that it changes; just as the thousand problems that beset it are equally clear.
But someone can seriously think that we can do without or mortify that primary place in which it is born, grow up, and form, and every person dies; that place which, despite the fractures and solitudes present, remains the main remedy for loneliness, to old age, to infirmity, in which we rejoice at birth and suffer at death, where you live (and maybe we get into an argument, pure) among the people we care about most? We can consider a child interchangeable with any stranger and equivalent on an emotional and real level, a mother, a brother? Procreation according to nature and pregnancy can be considered an animalistic residue?
The family Even in a broken and frayed society, the irreplaceable place of care and concern remains. All this, I repeat, it can also be criticized and rethought; but it's one thing to disagree, another is to brand the family, this real and natural structure, as well as historical, social and cultural, like a monster to be aborted.
