Alfie's death and our conscience

AN OPINION

Alfie's death and our conscience

In the end he didn't make it, poor Alfie. He passed away on Saturday night 28 April, a few days before his second birthday. Personally, I hoped for it until the end. I hoped the little one would continue to breathe, therefore to live, after the life support “plug” had been pulled a few days earlier. I hoped that at least the European Court would rule in favor of the transfer to "Bambino Gesù", after the Italian government had granted Alfie Italian citizenship to allow him to expatriate. Finally, I hoped for a miracle – we Catholics, you know, we believe - that it would annihilate judges and scientists from across the Channel who intend to rule on "life worth living" by establishing the boundary as a question of right, perhaps even going against the wishes of the parents - for a child under two years old, the only one possible. But in the land of Albion – that of the god of the English in whom you should never believe, and in fact I don't believe it – that's how it works: if there is no agreement between doctors and family, the law provides for the intervention of a judge. In the case in question, the doctors at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool had already declared, last December, that they have exhausted all options available to save the little one, therefore deciding to suspend the artificial ventilation that was keeping him alive. Decision to which obviously Tom and Kate Evans, the two very young parents, they were opposed, indicating among the treatment possibilities also the transfer to the "Bambino Gesù". None of this happened. As in the sad case of Charlie Gard, the end of a child's life has been decreed by law, and repeated appeals - including from the Holy See - to try to save the child were of no avail. Read More

A negative judgment on religious Jews coming from the pen of a known French Jew, Bernard Lazare. Phillip Mericle reviews Lazare’s book, Anti-Semitism, Its History and its Causes. In it Lazare presents an objective analysis of the flaws of Judaism. These flaws give basis for the anti-Semitism that has been universal throughout History among differing peoples and circumstances Lazare concludes that the only constant factor contributing towards hostility to the Jews is the behavior of the Jews themselves.
You may have heard about the recent interview of Card. Christoph von Schönborn where he raised the question of women priests as viable. That is shocking in itself and has been the subject of much talk. This week Atila Guimarães looks at that interview under a different light, showing how Schönborn revealed himself to be heretical under two different titles.

Church condemnations of the heresy called ecumenism

We highlight an excellent work by Sursum Corda, the care of Carlo Di Piero, on the teaching of the Church against ecumenism.
A, Santa, Catholic and Apostolic
Pope Leo XIII in I have learned enough he states: Jesus Christ established in the Church a "vivo, authentic and perennial teaching”, which he himself strengthened with his power, he informed of the spirit of truth and authenticated with miracles; and he wanted and commanded that the precepts of his doctrine should be received as his own. Therefore every time this magisterium declares that this or that dogma is contained in the body of divinely revealed doctrine, everyone must take it as true, so long as, if it could be fake, it would follow that God himself would be the author of man's error, which is repugnant: “O Lord, if there is an error, we were deceived by you” [Richard of St. Victor, By Trin., lib. I, cap. 2]. So, every reason to doubt has been removed, who will ever be allowed to repudiate even one of these truths, without his falling into heresy and without that, being separated from the Church, rejects all Christian doctrine on the whole? Indeed, such is the nature of faith that nothing is so repugnant to it as admitting one dogma and repudiating another. In fact, the Church openly declares that faith is a "supernatural virtue, with which, inspired and helped by the grace of God, we believe that the things he revealed are true, not for the intrinsic truth of the same known with the natural light of reason, but by the authority of the revealing God himself, who cannot deceive or be deceived” [Conc. Vat., sess. III, cap. 3]. Therefore, if a truth is known to have been revealed by God, and yet it is not believed, it follows that nothing at all is believed by divine faith. In fact, what James the Apostle sentences regarding the crime in matters of morals, must assert itself about an erroneous opinion on matters of faith: “Anyone will have missed only one point, he was guilty of all”. On the contrary, with greater reason it must be said of this than of that. Indeed, less properly the whole law is said to have been violated by one who transgressed it in one thing alone, not being able to see themselves in him, if not by interpreting its will, a contempt for the majesty of God the legislator. Instead he who, even in just one point, disagrees with revealed truths, he has completely lost his faith, as it refuses to venerate God as the supreme truth and proper reason for faith; therefore Augustine says: “In many things they agree with me, in some few no; but for those few things in which they do not agree with me, The many things in which they agree with me are of no use to them”[S. Augustine, In Psal. LIV, n. 19]. And with reason; because those who take from the Christian doctrine what they like, they are based not on faith, but on one's own judgement: and not "bringing all one's intellect back to obedience to Christ”(1Cor 10,5), they obey themselves more properly than God. “Oh, said Augustine, that you believe what you want in the Gospel, and don't believe what you don't want, believe yourselves rather than the Gospel” [S. Augustine, lib. XVII, Against Faustus the Manichean, cap. 3]. End of quote.

Israel's pride in targeted killings

Of Gideon Levy
Israel's pride in targeted killings
Source: Comedonchisciotte

About two months ago some news shocked the world. Sergei Skripal, former Russian spy who was a double agent for the benefit of the United Kingdom, he was poisoned together with his daughter Yulia in a park in Salisbury. The British authorities immediately responded pointed the finger at Russia and expelled dozens of Russian diplomats in retaliation for the attempted assassination. What infuriated London was the attempted murder (we know that the West is very sensitive to the value of human life), but above all the idea that Russia had dared to act on British soil.
A few weeks later another murder occurred, this time successful. In una strada in Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia, twelve bullets hit Dr. Fadi al Batsh, electronic engineer from Jabaliya refugee camp, of Gaza. The two hitmen were riding a motorbike. First it was said that it was a BMW. Then came the fix, era una Kawasaki. Al Batsh had given a lecture at the university and, according to sources, was responsible for developing weapons on behalf of Hamas.
All eyes immediately turned towards Israel. Yet no state has thought of expelling a single Israeli diplomat from its territory and no one has criticized Tel Aviv. For the world nothing happened. Al Batsh was not murdered. Malaysia's sovereignty has not been violated. After all, why should we compare a Russian spy to a Palestinian engineer, or British sovereignty to that of Malaya?
A false ambiguity
The system of double standards has once again appeared in all its evidence: what is good for Israel is absolutely forbidden for others, even for Russia. The Russians are famous for their murders with poison. Israel, on the other hand, is the only democracy in the world, so he can also use poison (as in the attempted assassination of Hamas leader Khaled Meshal in 1997).
Israel has maintained a false ambiguity on the matter, but winks at her, the hints, the allusions, the smiles and bluster leave no doubt: the good guys at Mossad have struck again. Minister Yoav Galant stated: “We will hunt everyone down, we will follow them to the other side of the world".

In South Africa, white men are the victims of black violence

Image results for Mandela racistLetter from Gianni Toffali published in Il Gazzettino
Thanks to mass indoctrination, public opinion is convinced that the racism be a practice “racist” operatedfrom whites on the skin of blacks. Unfounded belief! For years in South Africa, thanks to the silence of Western politicians, i Boer settlers they are objects of robbery, looting and murder committed by gangs of blacks. At least 3 thousand whites, men, women and children, have been massacred on their farms in the last decade.
The statistics are by default, because l’ African National Congress banned the publication of statistics on these murders for the simple reason that according to the ANC “dissuade foreign investments".

Disney festeggia l'orgoglio sodomita

Other news from the gay world (less and less cheerful): in Rome a kindergarten abolishes Father's and Mother's Day, mother and mother illegitimate act of the Hanger, diocese of Turin criticizes the registration of two mothers
and Roman correspondence

(AUTOMATIC READING)
Disgusting, no, per “celebrate” the self-styled “gay-pride”, Disney stores have also launched a line of themed merchandising, like ears “rainbow” of Mickey Mouse or the collectible LGBT pins. Which, however, should not be too surprising: as reported by the information agency InfoCatólica, Disney would repeatedly host unofficial annual "Gay Days" at Disneyland and Disneyworld, arousing criticism even in the LGBT world itself.
Please note that during the «Gay Days» there are events such as fetish parties such as the competition for the election of «Mr.. Leather" or the "Bingo Porno XXX" and other events with at least partial nudity. Disney has also made considerable efforts in recent years to “normalize” homosexuality among children also through its television programming, attentive parents! For example, with the series The Fosters, aired for five seasons, dal 2013 al 2018, su ABC Family e ABC Spark in Canada. This series was created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige, openly homosexual: in the first season it follows the events of the self-styled “family” Foster, a lesbian couple with biological and adopted children; in the second season, passes from adult homosexuality to infantile homosexuality: Jude, the youngest child is 14 years old, Connor basin, the friend from school, who defended him when he was the victim of bullying. Guareschi completes 110 years: here is the saga of Peppone and Don Camillo in comics

Reporting of Federici Studies Center
We remember the 110th anniversary of the birth of the timeless Giovannino Guareschi (1° maggio 1908) with an article that talks about a very successful comic book series dedicated to the "small world" .

Giovannino was born on May 1st 1908 and I already am 50 which is no longer there. A portrait of the writer and a comic episode of the Peppone and Don Camillo saga.
Giovannino completes 110 years – and it's been gone for years 50. In fact, fate wanted the anti-communist and conservative (in the sense in which every solid Po Valley farmer is) Guareschi saw the light on May 1st 1908, in a house in the Parma area where local socialists were celebrating Labor Day, and died in the summer of 1968: the most controversial year of the last century.
comedian, designer, journalist, writer, Giovanni Guareschi is universally known for the Mondo Piccolo/Peppone saga & Don Camillo (translated into 80 languages), made even more immortal by the films of Gino Cervi and Fernandel; but in reality his talents led to numerous prestigious communication adventures: from collaborations to the widespread humorous periodical «Bertoldo» (before the war) to the long and pugnacious direction of «Candido» (immediately afterwards), from fiery journalistic-political battles – we remember those with Einaudi and De Gasperi – to film scripts, from the illustration of famous electoral posters to the writing of countless books and stories.
