The MIUR now fights gender at school: informed consent and right to abstain

The battle of families for educational freedom and against “colonization of Gender” in schools marks a fundamental and in some ways historical point.
Last 21 November the Miur has in fact issued a Circular for all educational institutions on some fundamental issues relating to Three-Year Plan of Training Offer (Ptof), that is, the document in which all schools put down in black and white how they actually intend to educate their enrolled pupils and students, including activities and initiatives further than the so-called mandatory national curriculum (in other words the great variety of initiatives proposed by schools that go beyond the 'classic' subjects: Italian, mathematics, history, etc).

Before examining the contents of the Circular, it is good to remember that the Ptof it is by far the most important document on identity, so to speak, of a school. It is what parents sign when their child is enrolled. Signing it, in a few words they declare: "Yes, school, I want you to educate my son based on what is written here.". This is why it is fundamental (although it can often also be very boring) read and learn about the PTof in detail. The idea that school only teaches counting, write, date the Battle of Waterloo exactly and solve prime equations, second or third degree is an idea seriously behind the reality of the facts.
Today schools integrate the classic "basic package" with an enormous amount of contents that are not relevant traditional subjects minimally, and who would like to transmit a series of social "skills" to children, relational, cultural and – for what interests us most here – sexual, affective and sentimental.
These activities and contents are often included in the PTof in a generic and vague way, and with the exposition of only the general principles that are intended to be pursued (Es: 'counter to all forms of discrimination and violence'; 'deconstruction of gender stereotypes'; 'gender equality education'; etc). Consequentially, when parents enroll their children in school they often don't know, and they cannot know, what concretely will be done in class to achieve these goals. They don't know who will come in and do what, with which paper or video materials, to affirm what and promote which vision of man and society. Very serious shortcomings that violate the constitutional rights of parents to always supervise the education of their children, and to do so as a priority over any other reality, including school, as also established by the art. 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
To solve this problem, the MIUR Circular finally fixes clearly 5 fundamental principles:
1) “The PTof must, necessarily, be prepared prior to registration, to allow families to know the educational offerings of the schools so as to make informed choices regarding the enrollment of their children";
2) “All the educational activities included in the PTof, even if added during the year, they must be brought promptly informed of the families (…) in particular, for those that involve the acquisition of learning objectives in addition to those referred to in the national reference indications";
3) “Participation in all activities that are not included in the compulsory curriculum, including the expansions of the training offer referred to in the art. 9 of the D.P.R. n.275/1999, And, by its nature, optional e provides for the request for consent of parents for minor students, or of the same if adults";
4) “In case of non-acceptance, students can refrain from attendance”;
5) “For the purpose of consensus, information for families is necessary comprehensive and timely”.
In addition to reiterating the importance of communicating to families the content of the additions to the PTof in a comprehensive and timely manner, it is clearly stated that these same integrative activities - including those on sexual or emotional themes – they are by their nature optional and therefore require informed consent, failing which the right to abstain from participation is triggered.
It's about a real revolution, direct result of the work that has already begun 3 years ago since Let's Defend Our Children Committee (CDNF) promoter of Family Day of the 20 June 2015 in San Giovanni and del 30 January 2016 at the Circus Maximus. It was precisely the Committee chaired by Massimo Gandolfini that waged the battle for the prior informed consent and for the right to abstain with the Ministry of Education after the approval of the Reform of the so-called “Good School”, than with the paragraph 16 of its only article obliges all Italian schools of all levels to include activities on gender education in their Three-Year Educational Offer Plans, opening a legal highway to the "colonization of Gender" in Italian schools.

What does the Gender emergency have to do with the Ptof? Very much. Elements of Gender ideology, more or less explicit, they can enter schools in different ways. It has always been the most direct and clear, for obvious reasons, the varied scope of the so-called 'sex education'. What better occasion to talk about gender identity and fluidity if not in sex education class? Even more so given the fact that if once upon a time the topic was treated in the institutes by the local health authorities in a so-called 'technical' way (however often seriously superficial), in recent years the monopoly has passed to associations of a cultural and certainly also political nature such as those of movimento LGBT (Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transsexual) evidently interested in changing the connotations of the traditional discourse on male and/or female sexuality, in particular by attacking and subverting what they contemptuously call the “heterosexist paradigm”.
Since last year, all schools of all levels must include activities in the Ptof “prevention of gender violence”. It's wrong? We are perhaps for gender violence? Absolutely not: provided that it is very clear what is meant by gender violence. A tal fine, but, it should also be clear what is meant by gender. And the problem is precisely that on the concept of 'gender' today the ideological chaos is almost total. As is known, Indeed, the LGBT associations that enter, very numerous, in schools when talking about sexuality and affection they consider a person's gender identity a sort of white board on which everyone can write what they prefer, then deleting what was written and rewriting it countless times without objective limits.
On the other hand, this is precisely what happens in the well-known theatrical representation Feminism, staged in dozens of theaters in the presence of hundreds of middle school and high school students in recent years. Alex, a child, he doesn't know if he wants to be male or female. So he wakes up every morning and you hear now one, now the other. His stated goal, but, it is to be neither one nor the other, but an undefined third sex/gender. Alex is defined by the official plot of the show as a “Gender-creative child”, or a “child who creates his own gender identity”. Request: retain the message of this type of show ideological and harmful for the healthy psychophysical and also emotional maturation of minors, whether or not it falls within the gender violence cited by Happy School? The LGBT movement says yes: say that all boys are boys and all girls are girls, and that there are no girl-boys or boy-girls, And gender violence.
This is why the Let's Defend Our Children Committee has fought in recent years for the prior informed consent of parents and for the right not to have their children participate in activities carried out in particular in implementation of the paragraph 16 from the Happy School. The Circular from recent days crowns three years of meetings at the MIUR with Ministers Giannini and Fedeli and to raise awareness among ministerial managers and regional school offices, as well as obviously the local school managements in Italian municipalities. Three very difficult years, also marked by two demonstrations of parents in front of the Ministry, which so far had led to two documents issued by previous Ministers certainly inclined to meet the families' requests but which always failed to clearly clarify the need for prior informed consent and the right to abstain in case of lack of consent.
And now? The Circular and its contents will remain a dead letter if the parents do not return as protagonists in their children's schools. Unhealthy courses and ideological activities in schools will continue to enter, and although the school is now more than ever institutionally obliged to keep parents informed at all times, they will always be the ones who will have to take the initiative so as not to let content that is harmful to the healthy maturation of their children pass under their noses. The best practice consolidated in recent years is to make an appointment with the school director together with some other parents and, also bringing with it the latest MIUR Circular, let the school know that there are parents who do not intend to delegate the school on certain issues and do not intend to compromise in any way on their right to educational priority.
