When the left doesn't understand what's happening, and it happens often, fatally tends to get by with "analyses" that are almost always summed up like this: “We are right, It's the world that's stupid.". Sometimes, to support these learned reflections, you need magic words invented as needed. This is the case of "Rossobrunism", neologism that means little and for this reason works in good living rooms, those to understand each other in which Di Maio is Himmler, Salvini Goebbels and Boschi Nilde Iotti. Defining rossobrunism is not easy. The Dissident Intellectual site tries this way: “In purely political-literary terms, those who refer to this vision of the world, they range from Gramsci to Gentile, from Bombacci to anarchist figures such as Proudhon and Bakunin. Idealistic philosophy, ergo triad Fichte-Hegel e Marx, up to politicians of national reconciliation and sovereign defense such as Chavez, Guevara and De Gaulle.

Se sostituite Renzi a Macron, il ragionamento tiene anche da noi. Really, per un elettore di sinistra, è più “coerente” votare Renzi che non Lega o M5S? E se è così, come sostengono i soloni di sempre, com’è che le classi meno abbienti siano le prime a non votarlo? Bisognerebbe che qualcuno, nel Pd come a Repubblica, se lo domandasse seriamente: Perhaps, se lo facesse, capirebbe anche perché per molti di sinistra Salvini sia meno indigesto di Renzi.
Sono tempi strani, pieni di altre paroline magiche come “presentismo” e “direttismo”. Tutto pare capovolto: Belpietro a volte va d’accordo con Travaglio, Giannini fa lo stesso con Sallusti. In this upside down world, which forces us to start from scratch, abandoning stale ancient labels, the first to understand nothing is obviously the moderate "left"., who can't do anything other than call anyone who doesn't think like her an idiot/fascist/racist. “Rossobruno” falls into this logic: a more fashionable insult than others, to revive the usual accusations of "qualunquism" and "populism". It is no coincidence that the very Renzian Rolling Stone supported this thesis, also known for having created a poignant anti-Salvini manifesto without the knowledge of many signatories. Just Rolling Stone, which many remember only for the shocking and terrible cover with Renzi compared to the Pope (“The Young Pop”), he defined rossobrunism as “a strange left: sovereignists, pro-Putin and against the United States, immigration and Europe”. A “populist left with clams (with their friends from Casa Pound)”.
The best-known representatives of our local rossobrunism, where the "right right" flows into the "left left" and seems to find synthesis in Salvimaio, they would be Alberto Bagnai, Stefano Fassina, Diego Fusaro, Simone Di Stefano and Giulietto Chiesa. At first glance, questa cosa del rossobrunismo pare un’altra pippa mentale buona per ammazzare il tempo tra una sambuca con la mosca e una lettura pensosa di Internazionale. Rispetto però a colpevoli baracconate intellettuali pateticamente autoassolutorie come il “fascistometro”, il dibattito sul rossobrunismo ha due meriti. First, intuisce che siamo in una fase post-ideologica dove i concetti di “destra” e “sinistra” valgono ormai meno di niente per tanta (so much) people. Quella parolina è poi se non altro un tentativo per decrittare uno scenario schizofrenico e folle, in which an Interior Minister who was yesterday a "Po Valley communist" and today a "sovereign populist Northern League" seraphicly declares that he is both "anti-fascist and anti-communist" and that in his spare time he watches "Berlinguer's rallies, but also those of Almirante, Moro and Pannella”. In short: everything is worth it. And perhaps "Rossobrunism" is just a word created to try to describe this immense sense of bewilderment that pervades and oppresses us..
