Agreement reached between Lega and M5S.
The law on Sunday closures is being defined. After months of fibrillations within the L-Green majority, League and Movement 5 stars seem to have reached an agreement. In the beginning, the first text to arrive in the classroom was signed by Salvini's Barbara Saltamartini, but the bill did not meet with the full approval of his five-star colleagues.
Today, months after that draft, a new bill seems to have been born, ready to enter the Productive Activities commission (to the House) and be approved by the chamber.
The new rules establish the obligation to close on Sundays for commercial activities, during half the weeks of a year. They are 52 weekend, it will be possible to raise the shutter only in 26 Sundays, while for the remaining 26 the closure obligation will apply. Greater flexibility will instead be granted to shops in the historic center and to provincial "shops".. What is certain, however, is that the government will impose closures during secular and religious holidays.
In the end, another change compared to the initial draft, establishes that the provisions are agreed or - if necessary - remodulated by each individual region.
