He doesn't name names, the EU Commissioner. But it is not difficult to imagine to whom the statements contained in his speech at the Center for European Reform are addressed. Scrive Eric Zuesse, are strategic-culture.org, that two political camps, one led by George Soros, and the other created by newcomer Steve Bannon, they entered into competition for political control of Europe. Soros led the big capitalists for a long time liberals Americans for control of Europe, and Bannon is now organizing a team of conservative billionaires to snatch victory from the liberals. So the two factions of 'philanthropists' will now fight for control of the political consensus and European institutions. However, they will struggle to keep Europe as an ally in the war against Russia, but each team will do so from different ideological perspectives. Just as there is a liberal-conservative political polarization between capitalists within a nation, there is also another polarization among capitalists regarding their nation's foreign policies. None of them are progressives or left-wing populists. The only 'populism' that any capitalist currently promotes is that of Bannon's team. Anyway both teams demonize each other for control of the US Government, and internationally for control of the entire world, opposing two different visions of the world: liberal and conservative, or rather globalist and nationalist.
