Portugal introduces sex change a 16 years

Thursday 12 July 2018 the Portuguese parliament, following in the footsteps of Denmark, Malta, Sweden, Ireland and Norway, passed a bill that will allow its citizens who have completed i 16 years of age to change one's gender and name on civil registers, without the need to present any medical diagnosis of “identity disorder”.
The day after the vote, Sandra Cunha, left-wing parliamentarian who fought strongly for this law, arguing in court that «no one needs a third party to know if it is a man or a woman, a boy or a girl», expressed his satisfaction, underlining how thanks to this new legislation Portugal has become «the sixth European country to grant the right to self-determination of identityhas transgender... without the protection of third parties and without a diagnosis of interruption ofidentity».
