A huge blow to the NGO Amnesty International after seven managers resigned following a report by KonTerra Group: “We need a structural change”
KonTerra Group in its report outlined an extreme working environment, where managers very often use their position to decide and exclude certain staff members at will. Besides that, several workers of Amnesty they report true abuse, as well as having been treated very badly in some meetings and having received messages like:”You're shit“. A veritable ton of reports that also mention the nepotism that has always hovered within one of the most important NGOs in the world that has always dealt with the protection of human rights.
“The KonTerra Group company report and other sources paint a grim picture of Amnesty International's internal management and shed light on an alarming lack of trust within the International Secretariat as well as the challenging internal challenges we face as an organization“, dice Kaidoo. “The Senior Leadership Team of the International Secretariat is ready to step aside, as an admission of shared responsibility for the climate of tension and mistrust that has gradually emerged over the years in the organizational culture of Amnesty International“. In the comment on the story, however, Kaidoo himself reiterates that he will analyze every position and may not accept all of them resignation del team: “Change must happen in a realistic way, structured and not one piece at a time to ensure the necessary continuity and also the due sensitivity to the difficulties we are facing within the organization“.
Already ad beginning of February serious accusations had arrived’ong but it seemed that everything had calmed down, now, however, the specters of the beginning of the month and the accusations of abuse are back.
