And, but then, what and who is behind the current Afrin tragedy?It is really difficult to summarize all the contortions of Russian foreign policy here (aimed primarily at freeing Syria from cutthroat gangs – financed by the West and the Petromonarchies – and to dethrone Erdogan's power, disengaging Turkey from NATO) and the various Kurdish political and military organizations, some of which accused of “ethnic cleansing”. But something can be said about the Afrin area, until some time, ago it seemed to have escaped the horrors of war and the domination of the aforementioned cutthroats.
Meanwhile, Afrin (like Idlib) it is not a “Kurdish city” at all (only thirty percent of its population is of this ethnicity) and what's more (come Idlib) is located outside of what, historically, is understood as Kurdistan. To consider “Kurdish” Afrin, come Idlib, they are just fanatical Kurdish nationalists, in full harmony with the USA (which allowed the creation of seven military bases in Syrian Kurdistan) and above all with theSaudi Arabia (which thus hopes to create a strip of former Syrian territory so that its gas pipeline flows into the Mediterranean). Well, despite that, after the proclamation of Operation “Olive Branch” by Turkey, the Syrian government has repeatedly proposed that all Kurdish militias give up their claims on Afrin, allowing the Damascus troops and the Russian air force to defend the Syrian city. Proposal rejected, probably in the hope of one intercession of the USA. The results can be seen today with countless Kurds shot in the rubble of Afrin by the militias of the "Syrian rebels" (full of recycled Al Nusra and other openly jihadist groups). Who knows now if our media will talk about "occupation", the “conquest”, or “liberation”… of the city of Afrin? What, Instead, the many fools of the "antagonistic left" already say, we already know it: It's Putin's fault.
