But do you really want us to believe that this is the main problem of our time, in Italy, in Europe and around the world, be the nationalism? From Merkel to Macron, from Soros to Mattarella, from the Uniformed Media and Intellectuals Collective to singers and even astrophysicists, everyone points to nationalism as the main evil to be eradicated, indeed the cause of all present evils. The astrophysicist Rovelli has discovered in nationalism a black hole without equal in the universe...
Even before we ask ourselves about nationalism, its existence and consistency, Let's briefly review the main plagues of the moment and ask ourselves if they have any relationship with nationalism.

To begin with, believe that the global and national economic crisis that we have been experiencing for years, the expansion of debt, the black hole of finance, unemployment and new poverty, have some relationship with nationalism or are not rather the result of governments, policies, opposite economic choices? Think of the corruption of the ruling classes, their widespread inadequacy, blindness and inability to guide and represent the real interests of the people, the abyss between the governed and the rulers, between institutions and citizens, whether they are children of nationalism or rather of parties, regimes, opposing political models that have so far dominated Italy, Europe and globalisation? Believe that the degradation of public life, of our historic centers, of the culture and education of peoples, environmental emergencies, structural, the family crisis, of work and the south, sexual violence, social injustices arise from nationalism or rather are the result of processes, mentality, governments, ideology, permissive models that have nothing to do with nationalism? Think about the decline of countries like Italy, where the dead exceed the born, the old outnumber the young, are a product of nationalism or rather of a complex involution of our societies in which there was everything except nationalism? Selfishness, dictatorship of the present, refusal of sacrifice and any projection into the future, sense of decadence, global consumption horizon… Or the opposite, the demographic bomb in the southern hemisphere, the side effects of globalization at every level, you think they have some connection with nationalism? And the inconveniences, insecurities, the chaos resulting from the uncontrolled flows of illegal immigrants, they were caused or favored by nationalism or the opposite, if anything, nationalism is invoked – rightly or wrongly, everyone will then have their say - as a remedy to stem it, check, reject such flows?
The malaise of our societies and our times it has no relation to nationalism. And not even with religion, pointed out as the complementary cause of all the troubles. Via, let's not kid ourselves. If the Europe of seventy years ago, as you say, turned his back on nationalism means that our present is not the child of nationalism.
Let us ask ourselves rather if what is taking shape all over the world under the wings of populism, of leaderism and sovereignty can truly be defined as nationalism, only to then expand the memory of nationalism until it merges with grotesque results into Nazism and racism. Nationalisms actually belong to eras that are no longer ours, they had a reason to exist in a time and in a situation still characterized by nations and empires in the process of decomposing, they had rival nations as antagonists, certainly not the global system, they dreamed of records that would be impossible today.
Nationalisms were born on the brink of announced or suffered wars; they joined cohesive societies, on the path of modernization but still strongly linked to their history; they presupposed young and expansive societies, in which the problems were not those of our old and defensive societies. Nationalisms had plenty of interventionist cultures behind them, today's populisms arise instead from the collapse of cultures, on the dissolution of classes.
Nationalisms arose in the era of the "nationalization of the masses" while we live in the era of the globalization of the masses reduced to the molecular state, that is, atoms, individuals. Nationalism had its history and its reasons, but ours is another time, it has other problems and other prospects.
Sovereignism responds to three needs of our time: rediscovers the centrality of the people compared to the dominant oligarchies, as democracy rules; reiterates the sovereign decision, the primacy of politics, with respect to finance and technology, to the impotence and inconclusiveness of the apparatus with respect to the processes in progress. Protects identities, the borders, the economy is not the local culture, from the siege of supranational potentates from above, from global competition from the flanks and migratory flows from below. It is a different scenario compared to the era of nationalism. Now we can also believe that sovereignism with its populist traits, whether it is a wrong or inadequate answer that oversimplifies and is not able to solve problems or if it solves some it generates others. But it cannot be pushed back into the past, relate it to the old ghosts of the twentieth century (except one, the largest, communism that disappeared as if it had never existed) and then conclude that today's evil is nationalism, carrying out a gigantic work of distortion and distraction.
Nothing but fake news, we are at the global falsehood. In the end, an observation: because sovereignty or love of patriotism must necessarily translate into nationalism, xenophobia and racism; and yet no one translates globalization into communism or, on the contrary, into capitalist exploitation? Because we must judge the first phenomenon through its degenerations and the second instead remains immaculate from any historical application and from any factual and ideological contamination? Manichaean imposture dominates and the Official Story appears to have been written by ill-thinking people in bad faith.
