European elections: denigrating the family loses votes. Vero, Di Maio?

The European elections are taking place under the sign of the government forces holding together but with reversed proportions. Compared to the policies of a year ago, the League double the consensus and fly from the 17% al 34%, While, on the contrary, il M5S collapses from 32% al 17%. Goes up the slope Pd (dal 19% of policies to 23%), grow up Brothers of Italy (dal 4% al 6%), instead it drops Forza Italia (dal 14% al 9%).
In the perspective of Pro Life & Family it is impossible not to notice a growth in the lists that have shown a favorable attitude (or at least not hostile) to the principles of life, of the family and freedom of education. League e Brothers of Italy, who have overall earned the 19% of consensus, they are the political formations that have expressed the greatest number of candidates who signed the Manifesto Pro Life & Family.
Waiting to know the names of those elected to the new European Parliament, it should be noted that the debacle pentastellata has been associated with a constant in the political debate for a dozen years now. Renzi and his colleagues know this well Pd, That, after the approval of civil unions at the beginning of 2016, they began to lose all the local elections, suffering the historic defeat in the constitutional referendum, up to the historical low of 18,7% of last year's policies. “#We will remember Renzi” is the unforgettable banner displayed at Family Day on 30 January 2016: the voters kept their word and severely punished the Democratic Party and all his government allies. On that occasion, the aggravating circumstance was represented by the government's interference in a Ddl Cirinnà that, however ethically unacceptable, was born in a purely parliamentary context: Renzi promised that he would not place his trust in civil unions, only to then dramatically go back on his word.
A precedent was the first attempt to approve civil unions (then call I say) In the 2007: il Ddl Bindi-Pollastrini, however, was contested by the first Family Day in May of that year and was therefore shelved. At the beginning of the following year the Prodi government was defeated and in the general elections of 2008, the center-left suffered a heavy defeat in the political elections.
A similar dynamic was repeated during the European Championships 2019. At least four statements were made against the family of the deputy prime minister and minister of economic development and welfare, Luigi Di Maio. «A celebration of a new Middle Ages is being prepared that I am not going to celebrate», declared di Maio last year 14 March, to journalists who asked him for a comment on the upcoming World Congress of Families in Verona. And he increased the dose: «I bless all the investigations that have opened at Palazzo Chigi to go back on that patronage». Referred to some associations involved in promoting the Congress, these: «More than right wingers, they are losers. That vision of the woman as essentially a mere angel of the hearth represents nothing of the culture of the M5s. Whoever wants to go back will answer to history, not even to the voters».

At least bold words, to the extent that Matteo Salvini and the League, government allies, they had explicitly supported the Veronese event, with the patronage of the Veneto and Friuli regions and with the participation of three ministers.
Once the congress has begun, Di Maio raised: «I don't do propaganda about families. We all have them at heart, the theme is solutions to the problem. If the solution is to foment hatred or diminish the role of women, it isn't for me».
Less than two weeks before the vote, the most sensational move: the withdrawal of Alessandro Mureno's candidacy, mayor of Cagliari, “heretical” pentastellate, as he declared himself anti-abortion and in favor of the natural family.
The five-star vice prime minister's behavior is incomprehensible, perhaps because it poured fuel on the fire of a majority balance, increasingly shaky, or because it was contradicted by his own proposal to support families with a Ddl for this.
Attacking the family (with statements, like Di Maio did, or with “rainbow” reforms, like Renzi did) It doesn't win anyone any votes. Far from it. Not all politicians, but, they seem to have understood it.

  • Vittorio Sgarbi, with his proverbial irony and vehemence, says Di Maio is better than Guttalax ! The pentastelluto's insistence and ignorance gave him what he deserved.
Then add the invocation to the patron saints of Europe , by Salvini, and the burning defeat was assured to Gigino who will now be licking his wounds after having mocked his family and saints ! He will learn ? No doubt !
