While in our country the front pages of newspapers are occupied by the "numbers" of the Democratic Party and those of the maneuver, revolt broke out in France. And the protest spread to Belgium and Holland, albeit in a much more contained form. Nobody here talks about it, except for a few short paragraphs with souvenir photos of the "yellow vests". And what is most unfortunate is that no message of solidarity has arrived from the League and/or the M5s, to those who are rightly protesting, asking for the resignation of the government and Macron.
Nobody among us realizes that we are faced with a real popular insurrection, spontaneous, which sparked unprecedented violence and clashes in the post-war period. Already four dead, hundreds injured (more than 400 only the 17 last November). The “French May” doesn't even remotely compare. And it's not over. Today new popular demonstrations are expected with an exceptional deployment of security forces: 65.000 they are the mobilized police and gendarmerie units, and even the proclamation of thestate of siege, with the intervention of the army to quell the revolt, which would mean that France is entering a revolutionary process.
It is not, ladies and gentlemen, time to ask why? What is happening? Let's start again from Italy. The first sovereignist government was born from us, from an unprecedented alliance between identity and national demands of the "right" and the solidarity ones typical of the old "left". In France this alliance was not possible: the Lepenist right and Mélenchon's left did not meet, perhaps because both have remained stuck in the old patterns which have been happily overcome by us. And so, against the Macron government, the people rose up spontaneously and without leadership. Because today's revolt is a revolt against a government that no longer represents anyone, it is the revolt of a people without representatives against the elites, the purest of populist revolts.
Who then is the "sick man of Europe"? Certainly not sovereign Italy, which managed to express the will of its people through a new form of sovereignist politics. The sick person is Macron's France, France whose people had to take to the streets, build the barricades and die, to finally say no to a government of bureaucrats, to the old politics, to this European Union, of which Macron is one of the leading exponents.
But Salvini and Di Maio must be careful and not bow to the European Union, right now when he is extremely weak. And they must not forget that Macron has the country in flames due to a revolt triggered by the "environmentalist" tax on fuel. It therefore doesn't seem cool to put an "eco tax" on petrol and diesel cars.
