There isn't a day that goes by that fascism isn't mentioned as if it were just around the corner, about to return; the eternal, as he argued in an ideological pamphlet Umberto Eco. But you want to see that while the return of fascism is being narrated, another disturbing return is being prepared? Let's talk about communism, the event that most shocked the century in which we were born, because it lasted three-quarters of a century, it involved three continents and billions of subjects, it claimed the most victims ever, moreover in times of peace. A gigantic event, disappeared in the Collective Story, swallowed up in prehistory, as if it belonged to a geological era foreign to us. And instead, here he is climbing back into the caves of oblivion and coming back to the surface in our days. It dates back in the form of Pauperism, re-emerges in the form of Hospitality, returns in the global guise of Political Correctness. Let's call it by acronym PAP-Communism. It is communism returning, like illiteracy, reborn through ignorance and forgetfulness of the past.
What communism is this?? First of all, you don't feel a global wave of war on the rich, of egalitarian “level”., of slogans on the new forms of poverty, happy degrowth and waste lives? Now in humanitarian version, pastoral time, now in a populist and Grillina version, pauperism is back and threatens to strike all those considered wealthy, whether or not they deserved their comfortable life, whether or not they made sacrifices, they worked, showed ability and produced wealth for society too. Nope, you have to level regardless, hitting everything that exceeds the minimum wage and is defined as gold, from salaries to pensions. Hatred and resentment thrive online.
The middle classes are overwhelmed by this wave of rancorous pauperism. It's the first level, more crude and naive than communism that returns to the surface after decades of unbridled marketism, selfishness and the race for wealth and consumption.
But there is a higher and more global level that concernswelcome of the infinite world proletariat attracted by the wealthy West. For the new landing communists, no brakes or limits can be placed on the sacrosanct right of people to seek a better destiny, to move and go where they want. The homeland is a prison and as the old communism said, the proletarians have no homeland and have nothing to lose except their chains. A network of associations, reception centres, Ong, pro-migrant movements and parallel structures, also catholic-humanitarian, supports the desperate people of the planet and seeks a new alliance. A new global proletariat is born, with all the relative tensions that arise, class conflicts, of integration and exclusion, of insecurity and struggle. The next battle is to defend the rights of migrants from the exploitation induced by the new "masters", of the corporals in the countryside or of the companies that pay them illegally or with starvation wages. The whole system follows the scheme of communism; and as in communism there is no lack of underlying yearning for truth and social justice.
Finally, there is a third, more sophisticated ideological level of communism which today has found a new PC, no longer the old Communist Party but the Politically Correct. It is the new global ideology that wants to straighten humanity, redeem her from her mistakes and her past, rewrite history and vocabulary, offer a radiant future of emancipation and liberation. Feminism, the LGBT and homosexual movements, anti-racists, anti-fascists and anti-xenophobes are its vanguards, its new militants. In the name of political correctness, the class struggle is once again active, between Progress and Reaction, between the Liberators and the sexists, the chauvinists, the homophobes, tra i rom, and blacks, migrants, i gay, women and their enemies. The class struggle becomes the struggle of gender and linguistic code; the bastions of society are hit, civilization and its traditions, the nation and its borders, the family and its natural structure. There is a whole daily narrative, pervasive, in print, tv, school and university, with the active contribution of institutions or large transnational totems, which obsessively foments this class struggle and reduces every news broadcast, every message, any appeal for variations on these themes. And the unknown of how Chinese Mao-capitalism will evolve remains in the background, whether it will give rise to hybrid forms of communism, in China, in Africa or in the world.
Poverty, welcome, politically correct. Try to review together, in coordinated sequence, the three themes indicated. Tell me if a new communism is not forming, on three levels. Tell me if a new specter isn't wandering around Europe that looks a lot like your old bearded grandfather.
Here is PAP-communism. Someone will see in that acronym or acronym, a perfidious allusion to Pope Bergoglio who became the militant chaplain of these movements. Let that suspicion remain but PAP-Communism evokes a definition of Hegel from two centuries ago, “the food of the heart”. He was referring to the ethical-sentimental drift, to that rhetorical and sappy humanitarianism, hairy and smoky, ancestor of do-goodism. How many crimes have been committed for the supreme good of humanity, even more than those that have been committed in the name of race or other aberrant primates... All communism is a promise of social redemption, a dream of happiness and justice that produced nightmares, most terrible oppressions and massacres in the history of humanity. And now under new guise, in three stages, reappears in the world...
