In general silence, a real genocide against Christians is underway. In Jolo Cathedral in the Philippines, one of the main countries with a Catholic majority, with more than 90% of the Christian population, an attack occurred which caused the death of twenty faithful and more than eighty injuries.

The same happened in Iraq where Christians passed from approx 1,5 million in 2003 a 450.000 In the 2013 even if the numbers from the Iraqi Human Rights Society are even more dramatic and speak of an 81% drop in Christians in Iraq.
Christians around the world are victims of a slow and silent genocide, opposed, persecuted, killed by Islamic fundamentalism in their countries, they are at the same time forgotten in the West where, in parallel with calls for tolerance towards other religious beliefs, intolerance towards Catholics is growing.
Few remember the attack on the church of Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray in France in 2016 when two Islamic fundamentalists adhering to ISIS slaughtered the priest Jacques Hamel while he was celebrating mass. A martyr, as well as every person killed simply for being Christian.
