Work in Italy: Very, for a few and poorly paid. La "glebalizzazione"

Work in a few, work too much. The exact opposite of the 1960s "Work for everyone, work less", whose precursor wasEzra Pound, always lined up for the short working day. We work more and with fewer people. This is confirmed by2° Censis-Eudaimon report on corporate welfare. Fewer jobs are created in our country than elsewhere and for young people there is a future as waiters or shop assistants. The alternative is not to work or to leave. Moreover. Pay inequalities between workers are growing, employees and managers. And it increases work stress.
According to what emerges from the Report, Italy creates fewer jobs than other European countries. Over the last ten years (2007-2017) the number of employed people in Italy decreased by 0,3 percent, in the usual period it instead increasedGermany(+8,2 percent),United Kingdom(+7,6),France(+4,1). We also come out badly when compared with the average of theEuropean Union: +2,5 percent. In the South the employment rate is equal to 34,3 percent (2,9 percentage points less difference compared to 2007), at the Center is at the 47,4 (-0,4), in the North-West al 49,7 (-1,1), nel Northeast al 51,1(-1,3). We create less work than other countries and destroy more where it is already difficult to find it, or in the South.
Italy, moreover, it is less and less a country for young people: In the 1997, the young people of 15-34 years represented the 39,6 percent of employed, In the 2017 they got off at 22,1. But next to this phenomenon, as many will find at the end of the month, salaries are increasingly less profitable: the white-collar class and workers increasingly distant from managers. Compared to 1998, In the 2016 workers' individual income from employment decreased by 2,7 percent and that of office workers was reduced by 2,6, while that of managers increased by 9,4. Another piece of data to understand what music is being played? In the 1998 the income from employment of a worker was equal to 45,9 percent of that of a manager, In the 2016 has decreased to 40,9 percent. Same fate for employees, passed by 59,9 percent per 53,4.

Glebalization is served

The attempt to wipe out the middle class, abundantly encouraged by the governments of the last fifteen years, almost all led by the Democratic Party, is moving forward at great pace. But the maximum is constituted by an apparent contradiction:who works, who is lucky enough to do it, work harder and harder while earning less. Il 50,6 percent of workers surveyed, he states that more work has been done in recent years, with longer hours and with greater intensity. I am 2,1 millions of employees who work night shifts, 4 millions who work on Sundays and public holidays, 4,1 millions working from home after hours with email and other digital tools, 4,8 millions who work overtime without overtime pay.
All with a price to pay, also in psychophysical terms: 5,3 millions of employed workers experience the symptoms ofstress(exhaustion, heachache, insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, depression), 2,4 millions livedisagreements in the familybecause they work too much, 4,5 millions don't havetempoto dedicate to yourself (for hobbies, leisure, rest). Data that was unthinkable just twenty years ago. Pound's warning – “time is not money, but almost everything else” – crashes into the wild and increasingly inhuman capitalism of the 21st century. Whose effects, whose distortions go almost unnoticed, almost like a normal price to pay for working, also thanks to a union now totally incapable of representing the demands of the world of work. And thereglebalization, to put it in a successful expression ofDiego Fusaro, it is served.
