The announcement by the president of Bavaria: “They will be installed starting from June 1st”

“Crucifixes in all government offices,” is what was decided today by Markus Söder, President of Bavaria after a meeting of the Presidential Cabinet.
“Christian crosses and crucifixes will be installed starting from 1 June in all government offices to underline the Bavarian identity and its Christian values" he announced via Facebook the German politician.
Markus Söder was elected President of Germany's richest state in March 2018 when he replaced Horst Seehofer, became Minister of the Interior in the new German federal government.
Söder is a member of the CSU, centre-right party, ally of Angela Merkel's CDU. The CSU, regional party more conservative than its national counterpart, he has always maintained more firm and traditionalist positions: “Islam is not part of our country” Seehofer had said, former president of Bavaria just appointed Minister of the Interior embarrassing Merkel quite a bit. “Germany is was forged by Christianity and this includes holiday Sundays, and solemn days like Easter, Pentecost and Christmas“, he then continued.
Söder had also already made headlines by lashing out against polygamy and proposing to immediately change the German law which provides for the recognition of polygamous marriages contracted abroad. Furthermore, the Bavarian President has proposed having intensive German classes for the children of immigrants to be able to teach them not only the language but also educate them in the Christian and Western values on which the culture of Bavaria and the whole of Germany is based.
Rediscover Christian values and identity, security and immigration will certainly still be at the center of the debate in view of the upcoming Bavarian elections next autumn.
