last 22 February, at the hearing for the defamation trial brought by the radicals for the words “foolish servant”, written in cursive in a book of 6 years ago, after the examination of a witness in my defense, a new charge has been formulated, which concerns another sentence in the book. I am more and more convinced, in my misery as a sinner, that in our lives we must respond with good to the evil we receive, we must pray for our persecutors, we must want their good, even if they continue to hurt us. This is the gift of Grace, that we must cultivate in ourselves, cling to the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ. With courage. Without any fear. Enduring and blessing those who inflict suffering on us. Christ asks us for perfection in this earthly life, He asks us to imitate Him, to accept everything and abandon ourselves only to His will. He knows how to caress us in pain and we must be certain that he never abandons us. Whatever happens, He is always beside us.

It's underway, before everyone's eyes, a colossal and shameful work of mystification of the Italians' vote 4 March. Who is intellectually honest, cannot help but believe that the only political winner of the elections was Matteo Salvini's League, which he knew with his leadership and with the contents of the proposed program, more than quadrupling the consensus of a party that was in disarray. He gave it a political line and made it become a national party.

Well, the first fact to start from is that Silvio Berlusconi does not recognize Matteo Salvini as leader of the centre-right coalition, who took the relative majority of votes e, based on the electoral system, has the right not only to express its candidate for the second office of the State - the President of the Senate - but also and above all to receive from the President of the Republic the task of forming the new Government. It cannot exist, in my opinion, discussion around the fact that two representatives of the League should fill these two roles.

Because Berlusconi does not make this recognition publicly? Because he does not give up on his original plan: that of an agreement with Matteo Renzi, a re-edition of the Covenant of the Nazarene, which has never been broken and for which Verdini and his group served in the last legislature, together with Alfano and his Movement, which dissolved before the elections and whose members ran on one side with Lorenzin and on the other with Fitto and Cesa.

For Berlusconi, Renzi is his successor. For this reason he absolutely does not intend to give it up, but to embark it in a “purpose” or “presidential” government – ​​which would precisely be the re-edition, revised and corrected, of the Covenant of the Nazarene – which many are clamoring for. Renzi knows who is working for him. So now it's better for him to dedicate himself to tennis and keep quiet. A mess, a disaster for the country, because it would not be based on sharing a political program, but on the conservation of power and current structures, in view of other deadlines, next year's European elections, in which Berlusconi is keen to participate as a candidate and - in the background - the elections for the President of the Republic, foreseen in 2022, which is not that far away and which Berlusconi always sees as the culmination of his political career. Another reason is to place a mortgage on a friendly Government, that maintains a good relationship with its companies, that does not affect the manifest conflict of interest, that for 25 years – with the consent and complicity of the left – it has not been touched. The problem of believing oneself eternal is not only the knight's. It belongs to many of those who are involved in politics.

To ensure that this disgrace of Government “purpose” comes to fruition, they are working and plotting in many and many directions, above all to avoid an agreement between Salvini and the Five Star Movement, which goes beyond the elections of the Presidents of the House and Senate and is based on some specific points of a common political programme. A Government for the entire legislature that addresses the country's urgencies, which I am: uncontrolled immigration, the work, tax reduction, poverty, safety, the relationship with the European Union, for an Italy no longer subjugated, but free in its sovereignty. An agreement between LEGA and M5S on these issues - even with the differences that exist - would not be impossible. This is what is feared.

For this reason, in the last hours, they invented that an agreement of this kind would compromise the Government of the Regions where the centre-right is in power. A lie. Because the political plans are totally different and even if there were consequences of a certain type if the League went into government alone (and personally I hope also with Fratelli d'Italia), we could vote again in those Regions and see – as an old song said – the effect it has. In my opinion the effect would be that at least half of the votes that Forza Italia received would shift to the League.

Another lie that is spread is that it is not possible to change the current electoral law, inserting the majority premium. It can be done in a week. I agree with Salvini. Go to the vote in the next few months, if Berlusconi and the PD really wanted to reduce themselves to percentages corresponding to telephone prefixes. This is the weapon to be used against those who are trying in these hours, in all ways, to create a government agreement whose protagonists are those who lost the elections: Berlusconi and Renzi.

We should expect it, in the next few days, maneuvers of all kinds in this direction, like the initiative taken by Gaetano Quagliariello, who elected in Noi con l'Italia - the so-called fourth leg of the center-right - is about to pass, together with others, in Forza Italia, to strengthen Berlusconi in the Senate and allow him to exceed the number of elected representatives of the League.

I am sure that Salvini - who also within himself must be careful of the position he has taken and the warnings that come to him from Maroni – understand the situation. Face, Therefore, the only reasonable thing to do, clearly highlighting the ongoing design. If to do this he has to leave the center-right coalition, don't fear it. Because in recent years he has managed to give life to a new political entity, with the strength of ideas and the ability to represent them. It's not a little. Have faith in the millions of people who voted for him.
