Aquarius, accusations of waste trafficking and false information about infected clothing

by Angelo Romano
Illicit waste trafficking. This is the accusation from the Catania Prosecutor's Office, led by Prosecutor Carmelo Zuccaro, towards Doctors Without Borders Belgium and the Netherlands, at the end of the “Bordless” investigation. Others are under investigation with them 12 people: 8 representatives of the NGO in various capacities, First Officer Oleksandr Yurchenko and Aquarius Commander, Eugenii Talanin, and the two shipping agents contacted for waste disposal activities once landed in the ports. The accusation is of having systematically shared, planned and executed an illegal project for the disposal of a large quantity of infectious waste (healthcare and otherwise), produced on the Vos Prudence and Aquarius ships following migrant rescue activities, together with municipal solid waste, on the occasion of technical stops and the disembarkation of migrants, despite the "numerous and documented cases of diseases recorded by the various Maritime Health Offices in Sicily and Southern Italy which intervened at the time of the migrants' arrival in Italian ports" in which they were "detected 5.088 health cases at infectious risk (scabies, meningitis, tuberculosis, AIDS and syphilis) are 21.326 migrants landed". Precisely this last aspect has been highlighted by politicians, institutional representatives and some newspapers that, when they spread the news, they talked about waste at risk of infection, suggesting a potential spread of dangerous epidemics and fueling a new narrative on NGOs: after being referred to as "sea taxis" and accused of "destabilizing” the Italian economy, now they have been accused of being potential plague spreaders.

The strange game of the Coast Guard

Now, due to Salvini's fault, the toy has broken, but them, evidently, they have no intention of giving up
Of Gian Micalessin
«Once is a coincidence, twice a coincidence, three times it is an action of the enemy". Matteo Salvini and the infrastructure minister Matteo Toninelli would do well to re-read Ian Fleming.
The actions of the Diciotti ship, the Coast Guard patrol vessel, for the third time at the center of a clash with the Government in less than two and a half months, in fact, they seem more like studied moves than simple coincidences. The chronicle of the silent dispute between the Coast Guard, on the one hand, and the Ministry of Infrastructure, on which in theory it depends, and the Interior Ministry on the other begins towards 10 of June. While Salvini recommends the end of the rescue operations in front of Libya and the Aquarius ship of SOS Mediterranee is kept away from Italian ports, the patrol vessel Diciotti carries out seven interventions near the coast of Tripoli, charging 937 migrants. Migrants that Salvini and Toninelli are forced to disembark in Catania. But Diciotti's incursions don't end there.
Il 9 July the patrol vessel approaches the tug Vos Thalassa and loads 67 migrants who, according to a version that has never been clarified – they threatened the on-board staff who were guilty of wanting to disembark them in Libya instead of Italy. The version does not convince Matteo Salvini who makes it clear that he considers it a pretext to justify the intervention of the Coast Guard unit. But the fatal move capable of bringing the clash with the Coast Guard into the open comes on Wednesday. That day the patrolman Diciotti intervenes to the rescue of a boat with 177 migrants just as the government is pressuring Malta to welcome them into one of its ports. An absolutely unmotivated intervention given that the boat is not in immediate danger and it is carried out, as Matteo Salvini notes, without the knowledge of the Interior Ministry. «Yesterday the Maltese had taken responsibility for an intervention to help a boat with 170 immigrants on board explains the Minister of the Interior – and a ship of the Italian Port Authority, without the Interior Ministry being informed of it, took the immigrants on board while they were still in Maltese waters, to head towards Italy". Aquarius, the migrants throw away the Red Cross gifts and go to the restaurant with banknotes 100 euro

Of Maurizio Blondet
A few days after landing, the Aquarius migrants would not have distinguished themselves for impeccable behavior for now. As reported by the Spanish portal casoaislado, migrants housed in the municipality of Cheste, near Valencia, they would have thrown away the gifts given to them by the red cross, mostly clothes and blankets. On the other hand, the photos taken by residents who live near the structure do not leave room for many doubts.
In Alicante instead, where minor migrants are housed (or presumed to be so), some inhabitants claim to have seen asylum seekers from Aquarius in a restaurant drinking alcohol and paying with banknotes 100 euro. This has been the case since the first evening and despite many Spanish media reporting that there were migrants, after the journey from Libya to Spain, shocked and traumatized.

Italy and France are at war (and migrants are victims of a game bigger than them)

The issue of the Aquarius ship is only part of a broader clash between Rome and Paris regarding the destabilization of Libya, the military yards and the Tav. A conflict in which migrants have nothing to do, but they are victims of a clash between two mirror-image and opposing realpolitiks. (Of Alessio Postiglione, LAWS)

Migrants, selfish and divided Europe will make Salvini triumph

The Aquarius affair has shown that Italy can pound its fists on the table and make itself heard. But the migrant issue is a structural crisis and cannot be addressed as a humanitarian emergency: everyone must take their own responsibilities and the flows must be governed. (Of Fulvio Echelon, LAWS)

AQUARIUS AND HIS ACCOMPLICES

Of Maurizio Blondet
Dear Italians
Summer is back. I want to go out for walks, don't stay at the computer for nine hours a day writing ponderous pieces that don't move anyone from their prejudices. I'll just show you some photos. If you don't see in them the grin of Lucifer and the scorching hiatus of SatQUna, I'm sorry for you.
Aquarius, from Naples to Palermo the mayors against Salvini: “Our ports are open. It's heartless and violates the rules."
Luigi De Magistris and Leoluca Orlando give their willingness to welcome the Aquarius ship with the additions on board 600 migrants. The mayor of Messina: “The ship is headed here, and the dictation: the port is open". Falcomata (Reggio Calabria): “Available as always”. Pd: “Humanitarian risks, speak Conte".
To illustrate the well-known verses:
“We have been around for centuries trampled upon and mocked because we are not people because we are divided".
Orlando belongs to that immovable gang that Leonardo Sciacia called Anti-mafia professionals. De Magistris comes from the magistrates court, persecutory and interceptor, and at the same time inept, incompetent and arbitrary, which is one of the main obstacles for the Italian recovery. Now, obeying their sectarianism, they have reached the pinnacle of irresponsibility. They realize that, if Salvini loses, the doors are open – irreversibly – to an invasion without limits, then millini, ruinous for everyone, managed by financial powers capable of arming fleets and salarying crews for months. But them, to defeat a Salvini, they are ready to do any damage to Italy, irreversible.
What are we talking about:

of a ship 77 meters, 1810 tons, belonging to a German joint-stock company. Flying the flag of Gibraltar. I seem to remember that a ship is a piece of the territory of the nation whose flag it flies. So, when a German ship flying the flag of Gibraltar welcomes refugees on board, the place of first reception becomes Gibraltar. Not Italy.
Gino Strada admitted that these "bailouts" were pre-organized and orchestrated to challenge the new government:

When Aquarius collaborated with human trafficking bosses

Aquarius e Al-Bija

The cordial cooperation between some NGOs and the Zawiya Militia it lasted for two years, up to the agreements reached between the Italian government and the President of the Government of National Accord of Libya, al-Serraj, which also led to the arrest of Al-Bija members

Published by Antonio Schiavone
The government's blockade of Italian ports against the ship is causing quite a stir at the moment Aquarius. With a letter to the authorities of Malta the owner of the Interior Ministry Matteo Salvini (LEGA) asked to have the vessel docked in Valletta with 629 migrants on board as that is the "safest port" e, with the Minister of Transport Danilo Toninelli (M5S), he denied to the vessel, owned by the NGO Sos Mediterranée, the authorization to land in Italy.
Immediately the usual accusations of racism, xenophobia, fascism have made their appearance in the newspapers and in the mouths of beautiful souls of hospitality at all costs (which turns many billions into what has become a real business).
From us, Let's remember once again how they are often right NGOs to put the safety of migrants at risk and how the latter often have direct relationships with human traffickers. Read More
