Of Chiara Soldani
The novel about Mussolini it will become a TV series: with all due respect to Fiano, Boldrini and Saviano (to the continued list, Obviously). The production house Wildside has in fact acquired the rights to “M. The son of the century” by Antonio Scurati (published by Bompiani). As, the book that deals with the obsessively cited “fascism”, will find a television adaptation: but without affecting its literary goodness. Pages that testify, in great detail, historical facts without the imaginative intervention of the author.
Scurati has faithfully reconstructed the history of Italy since 1919 al 1925: from the foundation of the Italian fighting Fasci to the Matteotti crime. Historical documents that support the narrative: the author places it at the center of the book, a Mussolini committed to giving shape to his revolutionary project. Trace it, Furthermore, a well-defined psychological profile. A very clear idea of Italy and Italianness, that of the Duce: “In order, Italy must first conquer itself. This is the task of fascism. The victory of the spirit is necessary if we want to renew the nation to launch it on the path to its greatest imperial destiny.".
Work imbued with realism, with documentary inserts: articles, official press releases, epistolary correspondence. Grande, Scurati's work: no invention but reconstructed and restored facts, with its own artisanal care. To date, still no indiscretion regarding production times, cast and release date. In a period (which has been going on for too long) of great censorship and imaginative reconstructions (reference to recent events that is not purely coincidental), book and TV series on Mussolini they are a great victory: in the game against political correctness. Go ahead like this.

Memories of an era – Fra' Ginepro, the Franciscan who brought Mussolini back to the Faith

Of Luciano Garibaldi

fgnpr

Fra' Ginepro from Pompeiana (photo from the Ragazzi del Manfrei website)

He was a priest, Don Ennio Innocenti, theologian and historian, famous radio preacher (his broadcasts entitled “Listen, it's evening"), as well as founder of the “Sacra Fraternitas Aurigarum in Urbe”, to reconstruct Mussolini's path towards faith. He did it with a book, “Dispute over the conversion of Benito Mussolini”, published in Rome in the mid-nineties, precisely from the Fraternitas (via Capitan Bavastro 136, 00154 Roma). Don Ennio Innocenti had dedicated twelve years of research and personal investigations to this unusual story. At first, had revealed what Father Eusebio OFM had confided to him, born Sigfrido Zappaterreni, chief chaplain of the Black Brigades, moved to Argentina after the war and died in Buenos Aires. Several times - this was revealed by Father Eusebio to his brother - he received the sacramental confession of Benito Mussolini. Afterwards, it was another Franciscan who administered it to the Duce, after confessing it himself, the Eucharist. His name was Fra' Ginepro. Read More

And then, Which side are the Catholics on??

REVIEW OF THE BOOK BY MATTEO CASTAGNA
Of Mattia Rossi per The newspaper OFF of The newspaper
It caused a sensation, some time ago, the cover of Christian family against the Minister of the Interior Matteo SalviniGo behind Salvini», it stood out on the cover under the photograph of the Northern League leader). Shortly after, but, the newspaper poll Libero: 85% of Catholics would be in favor of the Minister's policies
And then, which side are they on? (or they have to stay) the Catholics? With what, commonly, is defined as populism or with the pro-European globalism? And southern fascism? Where to position yourself for those who profess to be Catholic? But then, as Catholics? Those of the modernist official hierarchies or those "integral" and faithful to the Catholic Magisterium of all time?
He tries to give the answers Matthew Castagna, journalist and militant Catholic (responsible for the Sedevacantist-oriented “Christus Rex – Traditio” club) in his Catholics between Europeanism and populism. The challenge to nihilism (Solfanelli, pages. 248, euro 17) recently in the bookstore.
Ascertained immediately, from Castagna, that «a “progressive Catholicism” cannot exist» and that «the only possible Catholicism is the “integral” one», There are numerous doctrines that the Veronese journalist reviews (Savonarolism, counter-reformism, the second Francoism, the neo-Lutheranism of Nazism) and then move to the Catholic side in the chapter Integral Catholics, Jesuits, modernist, clerical-fascists.
Catholic integralism, explains Castagna, «perceives in white-Jesuit internationalism, Christian Democrat-Modernist is the political and theological instrument through which the greatest attack is manifesting itself, never conceived, to Christianity". It follows that, according to the author, «the fundamental danger of the Jesuit-modernist union would be represented, per mons. Benign, from the end of the social disintegration of the Western Constantinian and Gregorian Tradition; from absolute and dogmatic anti-fascism; from left-wing Christian Democrats; from fanatical and relativistic technical-pragmatic and politicistic anthropocentrism; from the rejection of the XXIV theses of Thomism; all of this, if achieved with the victory of international anti-fascism, it would have led to neo-modernist nihilism and secularization”. You again, Benito

Of Marcello Veneziani

Like today seventy-five years ago Mussolini he was freed from imprisonment in Campo Imperatore. Today the first volume of a monumental work dedicated to the leader tries to free him from the damnatio memoriae Antonio Scurati which goes to the bookshop today, M. the son of the century (ed. Bompiani, 840 pages, 22 euro). It seems strange but in the river of books dedicated to fascism and the Duce there is not a biographical novel entirely focused on his figure. Mussolini appears there a thousand and a thousand times as an evil demiurge, as a menacing shadow or as an ogre in individual stories, even private ones. But a fictionalized biography about him, in multiple volumes, without an apologetic or denigrating tone, something of a narrative equivalent of the monumental historical biography of Renzo De Felice, it wasn't there yet. Curious to see it, especially given the author's premises/promises of equidistance and the confession of having been subjugated by the character, and perhaps fascinated. It also happened to De Felice, who also came from an anti-fascist culture, left. Furthermore, Scurati does not lack narrative talent and a free gaze.
I would like to object something to the title because Mussolini may have been the son of his century but above all he was its father because he generated events, followers, imitations, works and curses like few others. He was the father of fascism and stepfather of anti-fascism. Some even considered that Mussolini invented an eternal category, Urfascism (Umberto Eco). Son of a century but father of an eternity, nice paradox, Benito.
In truth, Scurati's fictional biography renounces too large and significant a part of Mussolini's life: the one that precedes the foundation of fascism, il 1919, that is, the life of an anarchist, as a revolutionary socialist, as leader of the most radical left, as a master, journalist and writer, exile and prisoner, and then director of Avanti and other effervescent magazines, until the foundation of the Popolo d'Italia. But also Mussolini fighting in the First World War. Scurati's Mussolini is already the founder of fascism, much of his life has already passed. Read More

Salvini's anti-America trench

Salvini's anti-America trenchOf Massimo Fini
Source: Massimo Fini
This is getting worrying. More and more often we have to agree with Matteo Salvini, who certainly has the habit of interfering in everything but has a speed of reaction that forces the more fearful Di Maio to struggle to chase him, making him look like a clueless full-back in front of the best Leo Messi.
Salvini is right when faced with the Wall Street Journal's attack which predicts a collapse of Italy due to the inability of its "populist" government and the threatening projections of the rating agency Moody's and the multinational mass media Bloomberg, both American, who seem to have a great desire to downgrade us, after the presentation of the budget law, a storm is expected in Italy from the so-called 'markets', that is, international finance largely controlled by the USA, to overthrow the hated yellow-green government. Which has the grave fault of having made Italy raise its head a little.
Matteo Salvini convinces us a little less when he exceeds in his muscular displays: “We will not retreat an inch”. The Italian precedents, especially from that world which Salvini more or less consciously draws inspiration from, they are not encouraging. Benito Mussolini, who moreover had a political and intellectual stature compared to which Salvini is a dwarf, he declared chest out: “we will stop the Americans on the shoreline”. And the Americans, with the support of the Mafia which we would have paid dearly for and which we are still paying for, in two days they took Sicily. “We will break Greece's back” said the Duce and the Wehrmacht had to intervene to save us from a military disaster (let it be said in passing: Mussolini was unintentionally the Allies' best ally, with the naive interventions in Greece and, even more, with the one in North Africa which Hitler absolutely did not want having other fronts, more important, to cover).
What Salvini seems not to realize is that the attack on Italy by the Americans, despite them and their friends trying to make people believe otherwise, it is part of the more general Yankee attack on Europe. Salvini must therefore come to an agreement with himself: you cannot be anti-American and anti-European at the same time, because a united Europe is the only bulwark against American bullying. Which is the policy he follows, albeit with the necessary precautions, Angela Merkel. Since Salvini wanders around everywhere, go and meet Angela as soon as possible, not with hat in hand but by putting on, this time, dutifully standing at attention before the only European statesman. Ponti fascisti opere d'arte resistenti a tutto

Fascist bridges works of art resistant to everythingExamples of engineering and architecture that not even Anti-Fascism throws down

Of Angela Di Pietro
When He was there, not only did the trains arrive on time, but the bridges never came down and even today they resist everything, also two point zero for Anti-Fascism, all carelessness, to the absence of maintenance. For the bridges built in Italy during the twenty years of fascism, designed by eminent professionals of the time, the toponym “littorio” was frequently used, or “of the lictor”. The war conflict ended and the Republic was established, In the 1946, the viaducts lost the name "Littoria" and changed names (don't do it). Everyone. They were well made, they were resistant, but they were destined to oblivion because they were linked to the figure of the Duce.
One of the most important is without a doubt the littorio bridge in Venice, today known as the “Freedom Bridge”. The Brescia engineer Eugenio Giuseppe Miozzi was in charge of the design work, example of honesty and ability, who doesn't even have a registered street because men like him are considered "to be forgotten", like Mussolini. The most important work entrusted to him was that of the littorio bridge (today Liberty Bridge) which connects Venice with the mainland by car. A highway on water. The construction, long 22 meters, it was made of reinforced concrete and stone, from “Ferrobeton” with great rapidity, alone 18 months. The bridge was inaugurated in 1933 with the name of “Littorio bridge” by Umberto II of Savoy together with his wife Maria José of Belgium, Benito Mussolini was also present. Still in Veneto", in the municipality of Verona, there is the “Vittoria bridge. It was the 1925 when…

A letter of Mussolini, on the anniversary of the birth

Image results for Mussolini with mustacheOf Editorial team
We get this READER'S LETTER which we are kindly asked to publish, which we welcome, although some parts are not shared, especially those laudatory ones by Craxi and on a vision of Fascism from a perspective, in our opinion, a bit’ too unbalanced to the left. Anyway, the text is interesting, original and well written. Certainly, the still open debate on Fascism is reserved for serious historians, like De Felice and Parlato, while today it is used in a specious and false way among politicians in the service of Soros and Rockefeller…
Of Giacomo Emilia

Il 29 July 1883 was born in Dovia di Predappio, under the patron star of Amilcare Cipriani and A. Orians, Benito Mussolini.

Revolutionary, Socialist, but above all Italian, will be the greatest protagonist, according to the judgment that its sole successor will give, the great statesman of the PSI Bettino Craxi, of an authentic social Renaissance that was able to impose Rome at the center of the world.

Captured in April 1945 during the attempt to create the Republican Alpine Redoubt, he was executed in the night between 27 and the 28 April during a scuffle as he was in fact trying to defend Claretta Petacci, victim of partisan violence (cfr. http://www.secoloditalia.it/2018/01/lo-storico-parlato-su-claretta-troppi-misteri-ecco-la-versione-piu-plausibile/).

Before death, despite German sabotage, However, it succeeded with the Legislative Decree 12 February 1944 n. 375 (https://it.wikisource.org/wiki/D.Lgs._12_febbraio_1944,_n._375_-_Socializzazione_delle_imprese) to definitively decline the fascist message as a social and "Socialist" synthesis of the ideology of the Third Italy. Salvini quotes Him: "Molti nemici, molto onore". But the phrase is not from the Duce…

Salvini quotes Him: âMany enemies, much honourâ. But the phrase is not from the Duce...Of Antonio Pannullo
Now who knows how many they will tell Salvini: “Many enemies, so much honor!”. Deputy Prime Minister Salvini writes it, are Facebook, by posting a press article reporting news of the various attacks on the Minister of the Interior, in the past few days, from the Catholic sectors to those of the left. In reality Mussolini's motto was not "many enemies", but “many enemies”, however, that is the meaning.
And it is also not the first time that Salvini has used this phrase, and then it is a sentence of simple common sense: the leader of the League used it at least one other time, in February 2015, referring to the criticism of him by do-gooders who underlined that there were Italians in poverty while the State paid for hotels for illegal immigrants. The phrase, being sure to be effective, it has been used by many people, and is erroneously attributed to Julius Caesar, like many other mottos of the Duce. But it's not even his. This beautiful phrase was almost certainly invented by a man who had many enemies in his life: the German leader Georg von Frundsberg (1473-1528), obviously unknown in Italy. He was a general of the Holy Roman Empire of the German nation who fought for the House of Habsburg, and in particular for Emperor Maximilian I. Georg spent his whole life fighting almost continuously for the Habsburgs, especially in Italy. It seems that right in Vicenza, fighting against the Venetians in the Battle of La Motta, Venetians who were in overwhelming numbers, the leader told his servant that he had pointed out the disproportion: “many enemies of von Frundsberg, much honour!”. It was the 1513.
Today there is a statue in his honor at the Military Museum in Vienna, commissioned by Franz Joseph, and during the Second World War a Waffen SS division was allowed to bear the title Frundsberg. The German leader has been forgotten, but the phrase remained, just as the phrases invented by the Arditi during the Great War remained and were used, mottos taken up by Mussolini and relaunched for their validity and for the message they conveyed. Among these, “He who stops is lost”, “Better one day as a lion than a hundred years as a sheep”, etc. In short, the sentences, the mottos, the slogans one would say today, they rarely belong to the person who made them famous, but the merit of Mussolini and other leaders is certainly that of having valorized those concepts that touch the emotional chords of man and which are ultimately eternal values. Returning to Salvini, we are ready to bet that the storm over his use of certain expressions will continue. But we also bet that Salvini, to stay in the metaphor, "don't worry".
P.S: this was also a motto of the Arditi of the Great War...
