Thus Greta Thunberg emptied the socialists: the Green boom

Five hundred years ago Machiavelli warned us about the influence of appearance in politics. In fact, he had already understood, the Florentine secretary, that the true mixture capable of generating causes and effects was simple appearance. And it has essentially gone like this over the course of these months with the rise of the increasingly ideological Greta Thumberg. Two tight braids, clean face and zero hints of a smile: a contemporary symbol of a constraint “Davide” against an inexorable Goliath, climate change which is cited so much by the young activist.
Yet many points don't add up, starting from the purely scientific aspect up to what Greta has actually represented over the course of these months. It becomes necessary to reflect on the media and ideological tsunami that Greta has implemented on many different occasions until it reaches the most important buildings of power and brings millions of students to the streets.
Who during these years has had the opportunity to study the types of modern propaganda and the different ones “wars of informations”, knows well that the best way to convey messages is to make use of untouchable ambassadors, incapable of being disliked by public opinion, defenseless and in every sense attractive because they are simple and intuitive. If in Greta's place there had been a scientist with numerous skills at an academic and global level, most likely the mechanism we are witnessing today would never have been activated.
Any scientist, however authoritative, it would never have had the necessary media impact, even capable of catalyzing the attention of the world's powerful and influencing – a few months before the vote – European electoral dynamics. Yet that's how it went: instead of any man, there was a not exactly anonymous girl. At this point the inevitable tsunami had its effects: in Italy squares full of kids and placards, Greta Thumberg defined as a young climate messiah, young people shouting on a stage claiming that “Piazza del Popolo will disappear in ten years if we don't listen to Greta”, and politicians ready to legitimize all Thumberghian theories because the young Swede is a trend, and the trend brings votes.

Piazza Tienanmen, after thirty years, the Chinese government's massacre is still taboo

Il 4 next June, it will be thirty years since the massacre ordered by the Chinese government of Li Peng, prime minister at the time, supported by Deng Xiao Ping, the chairman of the Central Military Commission, and by President Yang Shangkun. In the middle the secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Zhao Ziyang, in favor of mediation between the executive and the students in revolt in Tiananmen Square, the theater of clashes between the Beijing army and the students in revolt on the night between 3 and the 4 June 1989. A real massacre, of which for decades there was talk of "hundreds" of deaths. But until 2017, when an English cablegram, quoted in an article in the Independent, he even talked about 10 thousand deaths. There were a month and a half of events that followed one another, starting from 15 April of 1989, when the former general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party died, Hu Yaobang. On the occasion, Beijing University students posted dazeabos, with which they praised the reformist political leader, criticizing, indirectly, those managers who, In the 1987, they had forced him to resign.
Gorbachev too, the then president of the USSR, advocate of glasnost (transparency) in your own country – which in mid-May of 1989, attended a Sino-Soviet summit – stood up for mediation, when, pressed by journalists, he stated that if such a protest had been in Moscow, he would have started a dialogue. Words that fell on deaf ears, because repression won, in that China where the government called, to then bloodily suffocate the student revolt, soldiers from the most remote areas of the State, speakers of dialects unknown to most people, precisely to avoid any exchange or agreement between the uniforms and the demonstrators. In short, the Chinese government decided to cut all sorts of "pidgins", of a common communication code, linguists would say, to reach an agreement. The only means of comparison, they were the tanks, who crushed those who stood between them. Facts that, thirty years later, they are still taboo in China today. It's being talked about in Taipei, the capital of the rebel province of Taiwan, where it began, these days, a series of celebratory events. Academic conferences, a photographic exhibition, a candlelight vigil, concerts. Taiwan is free and democratic and can remember liberally. He can do it (who knows how much longer).
However Beijing's strategy was to remove the incident from the population's memory, more interested in the progress of the economy, than to the political debate. Representatives of the diaspora following the Tiananmen repression will also go to Taipei, and representatives of the Hong Kong democracy movement (where a museum about those days has just reopened 1989, unique throughout China). On the future of Taipei freedom, but, there are those who warn against easy optimism. Al Taipei Times, Indeed, Professor Chen Li-fu, vice president of the island's university teachers, stated that, «For years we have commemorated the massacre to defend human rights in China, but today we also do it to protect our sovereignty: we are afraid for our democracy". The Italian government, who in recent weeks rolled out the red carpets in Rome for President Xi Jinping, signing a series of economic-commercial agreements with China for the so-called new Silk Road, on the occasion of the tragic anniversary, he will have something to say?

Empty cots? If the abortion centers exceed those for births…

culle vuote-istat
Last week the annual report on the state of implementation of the law for the social protection of maternity and on the voluntary termination of pregnancy was sent to Parliament. If on the one hand the decrease in voluntary termination of pregnancy continues, on the other it emerges that for the first time in Italy the number of "emergency contraceptives" has exceeded the number of births. And furthermore, from the data of the regions there is a health facility in which the number of IVG points (voluntary termination of pregnancy) exceeds that of birth points even in Regions that until recently were oriented towards supporting birth rates and families. The report follows the alarm raised at the end of 2018 by ISTAT: the historic low in births - never so low since the unification of Italy - has been exceeded once again. In the 2017 newborns were 15 thousand fewer than the previous year, and for the third consecutive year under half a million.
The scenario described by the Institute of Statistics is disturbing. I'm almost 120.000 (practically the population of a medium-sized municipality) fewer births than at the beginning of the economic crisis. The phase of decline in the birth rate triggered by the economic crisis that began in 2008 it therefore seems to have taken on structural characteristics. The reduction in births is a phenomenon that affects all industrialized countries. Read More

Norway, Christians enter the government: "Ora priorità ai temi etici"

norvegia_temietici_vita
They ended on 17 last January the negotiations that led to the new governing coalition took place in Norway, the first with a non-socialist majority since 1985. The coalition headed by Prime Minister Erna Solberg is made up of the three parties already present in the previous government, the conservative Høyre party (H), il conservatore-liberale Progress Party (Frp), the social-liberal party Venstre (V) and by the Christian People's Party (KrF), recently joined it.
The new government presented the Granavolden Declaration to Norwegian citizens, from the name of the hotel where it was drawn up and presented, that is, a common document containing the government program, the result of complex and tension-filled negotiations, in particular on immigration issues, climate and abortion.
Precisely on this last topic, fundamental for the Popular Christian Party (KrF) which has the inviolability of human dignity at the center of its politics, Prime Minister Solberg had opened up the possibility of changing the legislation on abortion. The demands of the Christian Popular Party, posed as a condition for entry into the government coalition, there were two: the cancellation of paragraph 2c of the abortion law which allows selective abortion beyond the twelfth week and the ban on embryoreduction.
