This is getting worrying. More and more often we have to agree with Matteo Salvini, who certainly has the habit of interfering in everything but has a speed of reaction that forces the more fearful Di Maio to struggle to chase him, making him look like a clueless full-back in front of the best Leo Messi.
Salvini is right when faced with the Wall Street Journal's attack which predicts a collapse of Italy due to the inability of its "populist" government and the threatening projections of the rating agency Moody's and the multinational mass media Bloomberg, both American, who seem to have a great desire to downgrade us, after the presentation of the budget law, a storm is expected in Italy from the so-called 'markets', that is, international finance largely controlled by the USA, to overthrow the hated yellow-green government. Which has the grave fault of having made Italy raise its head a little.
Matteo Salvini convinces us a little less when he exceeds in his muscular displays: “We will not retreat an inch”. The Italian precedents, especially from that world which Salvini more or less consciously draws inspiration from, they are not encouraging. Benito Mussolini, who moreover had a political and intellectual stature compared to which Salvini is a dwarf, he declared chest out: “we will stop the Americans on the shoreline”. What Salvini seems not to realize is that the attack on Italy by the Americans, despite them and their friends trying to make people believe otherwise, it is part of the more general Yankee attack on Europe. Salvini must therefore come to an agreement with himself: you cannot be anti-American and anti-European at the same time, because a united Europe is the only bulwark against American bullying. Which is the policy he follows, albeit with the necessary precautions, Angela Merkel. Since Salvini wanders around everywhere, go and meet Angela as soon as possible, not with hat in hand but by putting on, this time, dutifully standing at attention before the only European statesman.
