Italy has seen both IMPoRT and EXPORT decline with the euro area, and a worsening of its net balance. Therefore the euro did not serve to increase trade; but the euro was not supposed to complete the single market? This also happened in other eurozone countries. In all cases, countries have seen a decline in the weight of imports and exports to the euro area as a percentage of GDP. In short, in NO CASE has the creation of the euro led to greater trade and greater interdependence. On the contrary, led to the opposite effect (Economic Scenarios).
