A lengthy WP investigation uncovers one of the Church's worst scandals that was allegedly ignored by the Vatican

Alleged abuse of deaf children, covered by the Church of Pope Francis. It's a story raised by one in-depth investigation by the Washington Post your one “of the worst scandals” of abuse in the Church involving priests in Argentina and Italy. At the center is the Antonio Provolo religious institute for the deaf and dumb and thirteen accused people, plus a fourteenth who pleaded guilty to sexual abuse, including rape, and was sentenced to ten years in prison.
Leader of the gang, writes the Washington Post, an 80-year-old Italian priest named Nicola Corradi, expected to go to trial in March.

Corradi was the spiritual director of the school and had a decades-long career that spanned two continents. And so his arrest at the end of 2016 raised an immediate question: the Catholic Church had the feeling that he could be a danger to children?

According to the Washington Post, who conducted an investigation through review of many documents, private letters and dozens of interviews both in Italy and Argentina, and Church officials, both Pope Francis, they were warned repeatedly about the group perpetrating abuses in the institution. But no one has ever taken action or taken action against the suspects, nor even Corradi.
