Caccia all'uomo

FIFTH COLUMN

He spoke in the bull's eye and it was dark around. He spoke, he heard the applause, some invective. All attention was on him, you could sense it from the silence and then from the buzz that sometimes interrupted it. He spoke, he tweeted, selfava. He spoke and made a void around himself, he was on the run alone, no one kept up with him, no one challenged him for supremacy. He was alone and then down was the desert. Then at a certain point shadows were seen approaching first under the stage, then gather around him. From the cone of light that was projected onto him speaking, silhouettes could be glimpsed: some fluttered like bats, they had cloaks that could have been togas, others were in cassocks, there was no shortage of groups of incited migrants, teachers with trained students, and then many well-known anchor-man silhouettes, of journalists, of singers, of comedians and filmmakers, donkey ears of intellectuals and professors with built-in register; you could see profiles of big silicone lips and goatee beards, irregular profiles with the pin, bald silhouettes of political leaders, profiles of gloglotting turkeys, and then you heard muttering pisapie or shouting with the wedge and then threatening words in French and German...
The group grew little by little as it approached the Speaker. And then from the shouting came the screaming, and from screaming to threatening, until it came to blows, rather to the clubs. Slap, blows, until he was on the ground, curled up, under the blows. Everyone around and him in the middle, solo, to take blows: he is the denier, let's deny it, he is the hater, let's hate him, he is the violent one, let's rape him, he is the exterminator, let's exterminate him and go on cursing.
This is the theatrical reduction of what is happening in Italy today, one week before the European vote. It's not a surreal reworking, if anything it is hyper-real, it's the caricature, and therefore the exaggeration, of what is really happening. A fierce persecution, a concentration of attacks, of hate, of blows, of low blows and insults that make what happened ten years ago to Berlusconi pale in comparison. Maybe they are the same...
History has accustomed us to seeing popular anger, the ferocity of the plebs, rage against the powerful as soon as they show a sign of weakness, of attrition, or when they are already immobilized, on the ground. But in this case, it is the anger of some minorities, the ferocity of oligarchies and potentates. I understand the populace, the plebs, has the alibi of ignorance, of rudeness, of poverty. But them, who hold power, courts, programs, tested, chairs, bank accounts, Palaces…
I won't say anything in favor of Salvini but I will say the disgust I feel at this non-stop show that goes from square to square, from video to video, from Palace to Palace, from program to program, seamlessly. And this mass embitterment, cowardly in a group, always massacring all against one: yesterday Almirante, then Craxi, then Berlusconi, so as not to go back in time, Salvini today. The same infamous vice, the same scoundrel partisanship, the same foam of hatred at the mouth, except denouncing the target as a hater. And it makes sense and nausea at the same time, view the crafty ally, who gloats over the massacre, he understands that his enemies' prey is now his ally-competitor. And he sticks the pacifier wherever he wants master, he acts moderate, the Europeanist, l’anti-spread. The unfortunate amateurism of his movement disappears from the media, the dangerous ignorance of his ministers, the disasters of their mayors, their welfare laws that would lead to Italy's collapse, to constitute a risk for our country and for the maintenance of accounts. No, now the spread is the fault of the Black Beast, Salvini. The enemy of modernity, of markets and progress is not someone who opposes every public work, to every free enterprise, to every attempt to reduce taxes for companies; but it's still him, Salvini, while the ally rejoices, comes from the polls. Power makes waves, the grillini are worth nothing but in the meantime we care about them, they are more manipulable, they have no ideas or principles, and now they serve to destroy the Chief Enemy. We are at the spectacle of the worst Italy, the worst plebeians and the worst oligarchies united in a left-grillino axis with the blessing of the potentates and the electoral campaign officials, to slaughter the Nazi Beast.
And to make the party fun, pro gay laws, cotillon for drug addicts and ports open to migrants, fiery sentences to those who oppose; il 2 June reduced to a celebration of inclusion and the armed forces and law enforcement who have to take courses not in military training but in homosexual education... One week before the vote, the mayonnaise has gone crazy and seasoned a mixed fry of powers and interests, sinister, social centers and red extremists unleashed against Salvini, migrants, magistrates and Bergoglians.
We will be able to get out of this delirious electoral campaign that seems like a hunting campaign, with dogs unleashed, the rifles that fire wildly as soon as they hear a Salvinian leaf move? Nazism is back in a big way, after the appetizer of fascism of recent weeks. We are in the middle of a world war, the Monti Oracle had predicted it...
