Obviously it is not our intent to say that Ezra Pound did not write good poems or other good things about politics. Certainly, as with many other writers, that we could define “in the area” some discernment must be used. Just one look is enough. The noble figure of the poet Ezra Pound commands respect from those who look at his features. His chains deserve even more respect. The poet who sang the beauty of Italy in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and who condemned usury, the man who remained faithful despite knowing he was facing human defeat, can only arouse instinctive admiration. Precisely for this reason I thought it was my duty to warn Catholics faithful to tradition, so that respect for man does not turn into adherence to the thoughts of Ezra Pound. The Catholic militant must be Catholic: nor liberal, huh, socialist. And if some - in economic matters - are tempted by the principles of liberalism, others do not avoid the mistakes of socialism, even when they delude themselves into thinking they are following a "third way" which is not the case, but, that indicated by the magisterium of the Church (which is not third, but well before the other two). Among them, there are many who refer to themselves explicitly or implicitly, directly or indirectly, to the thought, or the name of Ezra Pound. That's not my intention, here, examine this thought. I will limit myself exclusively to informing our readers about the environments in which this thought found its cultural origins, so that from the source we can better evaluate the watercourse from which we should - according to some - drink. For this purpose, Luca Gallese's volume will guide me, The Origins of Fascism by Ezra Pound (Ares Editions, Milano, 2005), which can be supplemented by Ezra Pound's The God. Catholicism & mystery religions (Ares Editions, Milano, 2011), by Andrea Colombo. The Ares publishing house is, as they say, “close to Opus Dei”, and has a “Poundian” necklace. And the authors are both admirers of Ezra Pound, so much so that Gallese's volume is honored with a preface by Giano Accame, and that of Columbus with an introduction by Mary de Rachewiltz, the poet's daughter. What emerges from the two volumes cited, particularly from Gallese's, it therefore does not come from sources hostile to Catholicism, nor from sources hostile to Pound. Nevertheless, the cultural debt that Pound has towards the Theosophical movement of Colonel Olcott and Madame Blavatski is evident, and therefore with the Masonic and occult world. Hence the title of our article.

The recent series of events leads Israel to retreat; the almeno, to a profound existential reflection, on the seventieth anniversary of the foundation. The depth of this rather anxious introspection became explicit in the discussion hosted by Yediot Ahronoth, the most important Israeli newspaper, among six ex-chiefs of the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service. The most direct eruption into this gloomy mood was the declaration to Knesset(parliament) according to which the population between Jordan and the sea was exactly balanced, 6,5 million on each side, between Israelis and Palestinians. Right, demographic equality would have occurred at some point, everyone knew it. It is therefore not a surprise; but it's a slap in the face of reality, nevertheless. These figures were published by the IDF and are therefore difficult to dispute. This moment of reality thus reduces the ability of certain Israelis to persist in the wishful thinking that the Palestinians are much less. This hugely symbolic twist is here, it has arrived. The question of what kind of state Israel will be is no longer theoretical. One of the six former directors of the Mossad, Pardo, answered the question what is it, according to her, the worst threat to Israeli national security?: “The worst threat, it is the fact that between the sea and the Jordan River there are almost identical numbers of Jews and non-Jews. The central problem from 1967 to date it is Israel, for the entire political leadership, it hasn't decided what country to be. We are the only country in the world that has not defined its borders. After the collapse of the USSR and the end of Soviet hegemony in Central-Eastern Europe, the United States believed it had won the Cold War. It seemed to me that they made a mistake and that the causes of the collapse were different; but the world, since then, he had to note that there was no important event in which America did not feel called to make suggestions, impose solutions or make judgments. The style could change from one president to another (Barack Obama's style was very different from that of George W. Bush) but America had become, as defined by Madeleine Albright, the "indispensable nation". His wishes were not always granted and his orders followed, but there was no table in international diplomacy without a seat reserved for the United States.
It seems that the picture is changing and that there are now events in which the great North American state is more a spectator than an actor. A few days ago we saw images of three leaders (the presidents of Iran, Türkiye and Russia) who had won the Syrian war and had gathered to divide the spoils. A few months earlier we had learned that the main Chinese political leader had implicitly challenged American power with a constitutional amendment that guaranteed him a sort of imperial annuity. The reasons for the change are numerous.
The wars fought by the United States in recent decades have not helped its military credibility. The crisis of 2008 it demonstrated that alongside the power of Washington there existed on Wall Street another power that the president and Congress were unable to control. It had already happened in 1929, but in times when America did not have the global responsibilities that it had after the end of the Second World War.
