One hundred years ago an idea. Revolutionary and reactionary at the same time, new and disruptive like the war that preceded it. An'idea, neither right nor left, as new as it is linked to the roots of Tradition itself. A fiery idea, violent and explosive that literally broke with the present. His standard bearers were almost all ex-combatants, men hardened in the trenches of the great war, in the bloodbath of the Apocalypse of modernity. E precisely having fought with body and soul, sacrificing themselves first and foremost, made the bearers of this new idea so reckless and determined. Things had to change, and they would take care of it.
As he wrote Mussolini from the pages of People of Italy “[…] We don't need to wait for the revolution, as the registered flock does: nor does the word dismay us, as happens to the fearful mediocre person who is left with his brain at the 1914. We have already made the revolution. In May of 1915. That was the first episode of the revolution. It was the beginning. The revolution continued under the name of war for forty months. IT'S NOT OVER[1]”.
Il 23 March 1919 were born, in the square San Sepolcro a Milano, i “Combat bundles”.

And "healthy italian movement”, as the Fasci manifesto said. “Revolutionary, because it is anti-dogmatic and anti-demagogic; highly innovative because it is anti-prejudicial”.

Mussolini founded, together with a bold band of idealists, dreamers and innovators, a movement that would forever mark the history of our country, and not only that. Il Fascism, by its very nature, fu la Third way, neither democratic nor bourgeois, nor proletarian and communist. Esso, firmly rooted in the roots of the Tradition he revived, it leaned over a world in ruins, bent by the evil of parliamentarism and proletarian dictatorship. His strength lay in his position, in being far from any label:
“I'm not afraid of words. If it were necessary tomorrow, I would proclaim myself the prince of reactionaries. For me all these right-wing terminologies, left, of conservatives, of aristocracy or democracy, they are vacuous scholastic terminologies. They serve to distinguish us sometimes or to confuse us, Often”.

The new and ancient fascist idea, defeat on the battlefield in 1945, rose to an absolute crime according to the wishes of the victors. The vanquished were to become the personification of evil itself. As, still today, nothing is more serious, shameful and pernicious of being branded as a "fascist". This term has in fact become the container of the evil of the world. Even a global movement is based on hatred of the fascist idea, a transversal movement that if fascism had not existed, it would not exist itself, or anti-fascism.
A hundred years later what remains of fascism? What lives and what has passed away? The answer is hidden in the words of its founder and inspirer:
“Fascism is a method, not an end; se volete, it is “an autocracy on the path to democracy”.
Everything has remained and nothing is defeated, because fascism was not a card, a party, a religion or an “ism”, but one stile.
