They are waiting for them at the gate, with rifles drawn. On Rai, in the Ministries, in the public sector, everywhere there will be nominations. And they are already starting to mix threats and victimization. They resume, as has happened at least since 24 years, from the first short Berlusconi government, to talk about proscription lists, of severed heads, as soon as someone dares to talk about change.

Take Rai for example. Once upon a time it followed a deplorable criterion called subdivision, that is, the tasks were divided between the parties. Then Renzi arrived and played the ace-winner; and he had no alibi, But I put the best in there; no, he put scraps, napkins, licks ad personam at command posts. And now, as soon as someone mentions from the government to need to change, they adopt a proven system: they raise the bar against the government, they mark more everything that contrasts it, because then they will be thrown out, they will say it is to censor their well-known independence. And not because they are inadequate, because turnover is expected in a democracy, because they flopped, and because they were there not for merit and quality but only because they were at the service of the company. No, they will protest against discrimination, victims of the populists, sovereignists, fascists, racists, Nazis, therefore fallen for freedom.
Lega supporters and grillini, fregatevene. Replacement is necessary. Now comes the difficult part for the yellow-green government. It will be a titanic undertaking just to start the sumptuous government program. Let alone the appointments. But that's where the donkey falls. In the sense that the populists, those who believe in direct democracy, to the sovereignty of the network and the people, they will not be able to draw citizens to assign to key positions. Nor will they be able to draw from their rather modest ranks, especially the 5 stars, not bound by any idea, no story, no civil culture, before politics, no governing criteria.
So what if they aren't stupid and they don't let themselves be fooled by the usual chameleons who are ready to change their skin and then livery with every change of government, if they don't give in to the charm of the transgenics of careerism, of Totò's corporals who remain corporals with every change of regime, they will have to carry out a healthy operation for each country, and for ours even more necessary and beneficial.
Choose the best, identify and select those who until yesterday were outsiders because they were foreign or disliked by Renzi's power, sinister, conformist. That is, they will have to give rise to that blessed phenomenon called the circulation of elites. They can do it because they have an extraordinary situation, which is their poverty and their wealth: they have no colonels to fix, ruling classes in pectore. This way they can really focus on the best that the country offers; the difficult thing will be to have sensitive antennas, ability to understand and distinguish value from fluff, find the right men in the right places (thus hitting a difficult double target), bet on young people of value or with real CVs.
And if they really want to guarantee that they will not be betrayed by the new ones, they will be able to adopt the Palazzo Chigi system (I mean the method, not the type): nominate the capable and deserving, as required by the Constitution, and support them with trusted "deputies"., that they care about missionpolicy and consistency with government lines. This in itself would be an extraordinary feat, unprecedented in our republic, part one and part two.
We don't expect that from a politician that he is an expert, a capable one, an authoritative one, let alone a populist, maybe grillino; but at least he has the ability to use good people (non come don Rodrigo); to understand who I am, to focus on them. They will have the courage, the intelligence and attention to do it? We'll know soon.
