Fontana: «I apply the law to the children of gay couples, and to women I say don't have abortions"

«It is not possible to recognize the children of same-sex couples born abroad thanks to practices prohibited in Italy such as surrogacy. The ban must be enforced, avoiding that the use of these practices abroad translates into circumventing the ban in Italy". This is how Lorenzo Fontana expressed himself in an interview given to the newspaper La Verità founded and directed by Maurizio Belpietro. The Minister for Family and Disabilities who, since the beginning of his mandate he has been criticized for the positions expressed on homosexuality (when he said "homosexual families do not exist"), traditional family (when he spoke out against the recognition of the children of gay families") and other topics, he covered many topics, like abortion: to encourage the birth rate it is necessary to intervene by "correcting the distortions of the tax system. It is not fair that families who have children are treated for tax purposes the same as families who have none. This effectively penalizes single-income families and leads to children being perceived as a burden, an expense".
