Il 28 January 2019, during the plane ride back from “World Youth Day” (WYD) held in Panama, J.M. Bergoglio, as is now his habit, gave a pearl of his usual interviews. Answering journalists' questions, he talked about “sex” and sexual education. Evidently these words of Bergoglio do not claim to be the expression of a solemn and infallible magisterium; however, they express his thoughts expressed in his typical way of approaching delicate issues, which should be addressed with extreme care and competence, but which instead are presented with an irreverent naturalness and summarized in a few words. He expresses himself rather as a private doctor, but in the collective imagination his words are still perceived as words of the Pope and perhaps have much more influence than many official documents since "the Pope said it" "so it can be done... so there is nothing wrong...".
The purpose of this article is to compare the words of "Francis" with the Orthodox teaching of the "pre-conciliar" Popes, and make some simple reflections.

Bergoglio's words
Speaking about the delicate issue of sexual education he said: “In schools we need to give a'sex education, sex is a gift from God, he's not a monster, it is a gift from God to love. The fact that some people use it to earn money or exploit is another problem. But objective sexual education must be given, without ideological colonization. If you start by giving aSexual education full of ideological colonization destroys the person. Sex as a gift from God must be educated, not with rigidity, educate comes from 'e-ducere', get the best out of the person and accompany them on their journey. The problem lies with those responsible for education, both at national and local level or at each school unit: what masters can be found for this, what textbooks... I've seen all sorts of things... We need to have sexual education for children. The ideal is for them to start at home, with parents. It's not always possible, for many family situations, or because they don't know how to do it. School makes up for this, and he must do it, otherwise there remains a void that is filled by any ideology" ([1]). It should be noted that these statements by "Francis" are nothing new and have already been expressed in Joy of lovein a paragraph entitled “Yes to sex education” ([2]) in which, taking up the The most important education of Paul VI of 1965, the necessity and usefulness of sexual education is explained far and wide. People are now so used to it, after the Council, to see the Magisterium of the Church contradicted in everything it has previously taught us, that now it doesn't seem to shock the faithful that much.
 
The teaching of the "pre-conciliar" magisterium
 

• Pius XI

What is the Church's thought on the issue of sexual education? What past Popes said (before the Second Vatican Council evidently)? Who has the duty to deal with and provide education in this very thorny subject?

Pius XI in his Encyclical of that divine Master, on the education of 31 December 1929, he declared sexual education as it existed in his time to be erroneous, that is, naturalistic information, imparted early and indiscriminately. Here are his words: «The most dangerous thing is that naturalism, which in our times invades the field of education on a very delicate topic such as that of honesty of morals.
The error of those who, with dangerous pretension and with bad words, they promote so-called sexual education, falsely believing that they can protect young people against the dangers of the senses with purely natural means, such as a reckless initiation and preventive education for all without distinction, and also publicly, and worse, by exposing them to opportunities in time, to get them used to it, as they say, and almost harden their spirits against those dangers.
They err gravely, not wanting to recognize the native fragility of human nature and the law, of which the Apostle speaks, repugnant to the law of the mind (Rom 7, 23) and also ignoring the experience of the facts themselves, hence it is clear that, especially in young people, faults against good morals are not so much the effect of intellectual ignorance but mainly of weak will, exposed to opportunities and not supported by the means of Grace.
In this very delicate topic, with, consider all the circumstances, some individual instruction is necessary, at an appropriate time, on the part of those who have the educational mission and the grace of state from God, all the precautions well known to traditional Christian education must be observed, sufficiently described by the aforementioned Antonianus ([3]), where it says: “Such is our misery, and the inclination to sin, that often the same things that are said as a remedy for sins give rise to the occasion and incitement to the same sin.
Therefore it matters supremely that the good father, while he discusses such lewd matters with his son, be well warned, and does not descend into details and various ways, with which this infernal hydra poisons so much of the world, so that it does not happen that instead of extinguishing this fire, awaken it and light it imprudently in the simple and tender chest of the child.
Generally speaking, while his childhood still continues, it will be enough to use those remedies which with the same effect introduce virtue and close the entrance to vice".
This encyclical was followed by a Decree of the Holy Father. Office of 21 March 1931 (AAS 23 (1931) pp. 118-119) precisely on sexual education. To the question: « Whether we can approve the method called “sexual education” or “sexual initiation”». It is answered: «Negatively: it is absolutely necessary to observe the method of education of youth used until today by the Church and the Saints and recommended by the Holy Father in the Encyclical Letter "On the Christian education of youth" of 31 December 1929. That is, we must first of all take care of young people of both sexes with a full religious education, safe, uninterrupted; and esteem must be aroused in them, the desire and love for angelic virtue; Above all, we must instill in them that they apply themselves to prayer, that they are assiduous in the Sacrament of Penance and the Most Holy Eucharist, that they follow filial devotion to the Blessed Virgin, Mother of holy purity, and rely totally on his protection; who carefully avoid dangerous readings, obscene shows, dishonest conversations and any occasion of sin. Therefore in no way can we approve what is written and published, especially in recent times, also by some Catholic authors, to defend this new method» ([4]).

Pius XII's teaching completes the teaching of his predecessor: « Finally you, with your perspicacity as mothers and educators, thanks to the trusting openness of heart that you will have been able to instill in your children, you will not fail to scrutinize and discern the occasion and the moment, in which certain hidden questions presented to their spirit will have given rise to special disturbances in their senses. It will then be your turn for your daughters, to the father for your children, — as it appears necessary, — to lift carefully, gently, the veil of truth, and give them a prudent response, just and Christian to those questions and concerns. Received from your lips as Christian parents, at the appropriate time, to the appropriate extent, with all due precautions, revelations about the mysterious and wondrous laws of life will be listened to with reverence mixed with gratitude, they will enlighten their souls with much less danger than if they learned them randomly, from troubled encounters, from clandestine conversations, to the school of untrustworthy and already too well-known classmates, due to occult readings, all the more dangerous and pernicious, the more the secret inflames the imagination and excites the senses. Your words, if sensible and discreet, they will be able to become a safeguard and a warning amidst the temptations of corruption that surrounds them, “that foreseen lightning comes slower” » ([5]).
Talking “To French parents” In the 1951, Pius XII always stated: «There is a basis for this education of public opinion, its rectification, it imposes itself with tragic urgency. It finds itself on this terrain perverted by a propaganda that one does not hesitate to call disastrous, although sometimes it originates from a Catholic source and aims to make inroads among Catholics, and those who promote it do not seem to realize that they are deluded by the spirit of evil. Here we mean to talk about writings, books and articles regarding sexual initiation which today often achieve enormous book success and flood the entire world, taking over childhood, submerging the new generation, upsetting engaged couples and newlyweds. With all gravity, the attention and decorum that the topic entails, the Church has addressed the point regarding education on this matter as they advise or request it, and the normal physical and psychological development of the adolescent, and the particular cases of different individual conditions. The Church can rightly declare that, profoundly respectful of the sanctity of marriage, has in theory and in practice left the spouses free in what the impulse of a healthy and honest nature grants without offense to the Creator. We are appalled by the intolerable shamelessness of certain literature; and while paganism itself seemed to respectfully stop before the secret of marital intimacy, we have to see its mystery violated and offer its vision - sensual and experienced - to the general public, even to youth. We really have to ask ourselves whether the boundary between this so-called Catholic initiation is still sufficiently drawn, and erotic and obscene printing and illustration, That, deliberately deliberate, it aims at corruption and shamefully exploits the lowest instincts of fallen nature for base interest. And that's not all. Such propaganda also threatens the Catholic people with a double scourge, so as not to use a stronger expression. First of all, he greatly exaggerates the importance and scope of the sexual element in life. Let's also admit that these authors, from a purely theoretical point of view, remain within the limits of Catholic morality: However, this does not mean that their way of presenting sexual life is such as to attribute to it in the mind and practical judgment of the average reader the meaning and value of an end in itself., making you lose sight, the true primordial purpose of marriage, which is the procreation and education of children, and the serious duty of the spouses towards this end, that the writings we are talking about leave too much in the shadows.
Secondly this literature, if it can be called that, does not seem to take into account yesterday's general experience, of today and always, because it is based on nature, which attests that in moral education neither initiation nor education offers any advantage in itself, That, On the contrary, it is seriously unhealthy and harmful if it is not strictly linked to constant discipline, to vigorous self-control, above all to the use of the supernatural forces of prayer and the sacraments. All Catholic educators, worthy of this name and their mission, they know very well the predominant role of supernatural energies in the sanctification of man, be it young or adult, single or married. But it is already a lot of this if any hint creeps into those writings, even when silence does not extend. Even the principles so expertly illustrated by Our Predecessor Pius, in the Encyclical of that divine Master, around sexual education and related issues, they are put aside with a smile of compassion: Pius XI, they say, he wrote twenty years ago for his times! Much progress has been made since then!» ([6]).
These texts by Pius. They truly give the general principles of a good Catholic education which can be summarized as follows:

• The rejection of naturalism in the education of children.
• We must take into account human frailty and nature corrupted by original sin when approaching sexual education.
• The duty and burden of dealing with these issues primarily lies with parents (mothers for females, fathers for males, needs Pius XII) and it must be done with a supernatural spirit and with deep faith.
• Better to go too far than too much in explanations so as not to arouse the fire of passions, but you need to give a prudent answer to your children's questions.
• Exhorting virtue and its beauty helps to repress and inspire the horror of vice contrary to it.
• The Church is deeply respectful of the sanctity of marriage, and leaves the spouses free in what the impulse of a healthy and honest nature grants without offense to the Creator.
• Sexual life is not an end in itself but directed towards the primordial purpose of marriage which is the procreation and education of children and this is a serious duty for spouses. And this is deliberately forgotten and omitted in modern so-called "sexual education"..
• It is very important in Christian education to rely on supernatural forces such as prayer, frequency of the sacraments and devotion to the Blessed Virgin.

 
Reflections and Conclusions
We have seen that sexual education that the Magisterium of the Church previously condemned and stigmatized as dangerous, once again Bergoglio, following Vatican II and “Saint” Paul VI (and we should also add "Saint" John Paul II with his "Theology of the body") instead he recommended and encouraged it. Even if it is not an ordinary or infallible Magisterium, this is a further element (if there was still a need...) which proves, together with the others, the absence of the objective will of the occupant of the Apostolic See to procure the good of the Church and of souls and as a consequence of the fact that he is deprived of the "Authority"; that is, not to be Pope formally, simply, but of his being, to be precise, only the material occupant of the Apostolic See.
However, we can ask ourselves what people will have understood, of Bergoglio's words? How it will have remained in their minds?
Say that “Sex is a gift from God, he's not a monster, it is a gift from God to love. The fact that some people use it to earn money or exploit is another problem." makes you understand, especially to those who are poorly educated or have bad will, that everything is fine since it is God who made human nature like this and after all the sixth commandment no longer seems to be a problem and that everything can be allowed, since there is no reference to marriage in that sentence, which only makes the use of "sex" permissible ([7]), or to the divine commandment that prevents its abuse. A moral evaluation should be expected from the one who occupies the See of Peter, spiritual advice or an exhortation to temperance, instead of a sociological analysis that makes evil consist in the sole fact that "some use it to earn money or exploit”, but probably for Bergoglio Christianity is also an "ideological colonization" ([8]) which is implanted on a naturally good nature à la Rousseau.
Bergoglio says that: “The problem lies with those responsible for education, both at national and local level or at each school unit. The ideal is for them to start at home, with parents”, and this may be true but say that “the school makes up for the family in many situations or because they don't know how to do it” without specifying how this should be done it seems a bit reductive and risky to me, especially if it is a secular and non-Catholic school that implements the principles of Masonic naturalism; furthermore this seems to me to be in contrast with what was stated by the magisterium of Pius XI and Pius XII (but for Bergoglio this is certainly the least of the problems...).
Most of the time when dealing with modernists and their deliberately ambiguous way of expressing themselves, the problem is not so much in what they say and affirm but rather in what they don't say and imply precisely to misunderstanding... And the problem in our schools is certainly not the absence of "sexual education" or the presentation of sexuality as "a monster", but rather the capillary teaching of sin, including that which is unnatural (against which the allusion to "ideological colonization" by many educators is completely ineffective).
Until then, Lord? What else will we have to hear…
