Assange's arrest is only the continuation of the slow physical and mental destruction of a man guilty only of having done his job: that of the journalist, of the reporter who discovers true but disturbing news that no one would have ever revealed and made it public. We are talking about the 400 thousand files disclosed by Wikileaks which would prove war crimes in Iraqi territory by the US-led military coalition and Hillary Clinton's compromising emails.
We do not want to reconstruct his entire story here, the defamatory accusations of sexual violence made by the Swedes - false accusations and not surprisingly later withdrawn - and then the certainly more serious accusation, that of having revealed compromising news for the United States. Assange enjoyed the right of asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy in London thanks to the intervention of the former president of Ecuador Rafael Correa. For several years he lived as a recluse, free so to speak, but at least he was still able to communicate with the outside world, at least as long as Ecuadorian officials, on a pretext and under strong US pressure, they did not interrupt his access to the internet and ban all visits.
The change of president in Ecuador represented the final blow for him. We don't know for what dish of lentils Lenin Moreno sold Assange's head to the Americans. And perhaps we wouldn't even have seen the images of the arrest of a man who sees himself being hunted, with a beard and long hair and even unable to stand up, probably in a very precarious state of mental and physical health.
And we saw these images, now spread everywhere, only thanks to Ruptly's filming, the video agency of the RussiaToday network. The idea was therefore to do everything in secret, without disclosing images. We don't know what this man's fate will be. He will be extradited to America as the Americans want? At the moment what appears to be an excuse for the arrest is the violation of bail conditions for failing to appear in court on 29 June 2012. For this he risks up to 12 months in prison. Right, it would be a trifle, but we must not forget that the Americans have long requested his extradition, and in the United States Assange even risks life imprisonment or the death penalty.
The only country that has so far spoken out in his defense has been Russia, with a statement from Putin's spokesperson in defense of Assange's rights and with the spokesperson of Foreign Minister Lavrov who spoke of «the hand of “democracy” squeezing the throat of freedom».
The European Union is in total silence. The member states too. It's easy to talk about the violation of human rights when it comes to illegal migrants who land on our coasts, but no one who has anything to say about this which is truly a case of political persecution. At issue here is the freedom of a journalist who only did his job: that of disclosing news even if compromising.
But be careful, the arrest could prove to be a double-edged sword. We do not know whether Wikileaks has already published all the material it possesses, furthermore, if Assange arrived alive at the trial he would certainly spill the beans and then there would be trouble; but for Trump or for what actually existed before him?

luckily there was Rudptly's recovery. The arrest was something shocking and shameful, that's an understatement ! It makes you understand that you don't want to be at the mercy of the powerful, be they politicians or their managers in finance, you have to rebel all the way.
Ma “all the way” it means coming to know that the Vendée was an episode of the revolt against demonic power. And it doesn't have to end there.
