Dal “Canova” of Vicenza to the hotel “Belvedere” to Corleone. Here are the excellent facilities intended for asylum seekers

The butchers of hospitality at a rate per hectogram and the prestinators of do-goodism at a rate per kilo, today they find nothing better than making subtle distinctions in the news published yesterday by the newspaper.
Title: «Nell’hotel a 4 stars of the accused refugee"; bolt: «Lucky Awelima was hosted at state expense in a comfortable hotel costing one hundred euros a night». Our social detractors point out that «a double bed is not expensive 100 euro, but alone 83 euro», that «the rooms don't look like they belong to a 4 stars" and that "the furnishings are from the 70s". It was almost time for someone to write that Lucky, actually, he lived in a dump.
We remind everyone that Awelima is not just any "refugee" and is not "accused" of any crime. It is in fact the Nigerian, suspected of being the "butcher" of poor Pamela Mastropietro, the 18 year old killed and torn to pieces in Macerata.
Awelima is an «irregular» – fake refugee (but suspected of being a real killer) – that the Italian State has been providing food and accommodation in a four-star hotel for a year and a half, the Recina hotel, between Montecassiano and Macerata.
A glaring exception? No, a glaring rule. Published, last summer, by a group of activists from Matteo Salvini's League, on the website ilpopulista.it. A documented investigation. Which goes down hard from the first page: «Luxury hotel, city e swimming pool. The good life of illegal immigrants in Italy. They live in excellent hotels, between spas and uncontaminated nature".
Just chatter? No, also many beautiful photos. With captions as strong as denunciations. They range from the refined four-star Il Canova in Sandrigo (Vicenza) to the swimming pools of the Hotel Belvedere in Corleone; from Prada's Genziana (Verona), convenient to the chairlift. We read it in the dossier: «Here are some of the most significant residences intended for hospitality. The Italian one: between wi-fi, term, parks and swimming pools, to refugees (that in large majority, official figures in hand, they later turn out to be illegal immigrants, without any right to forms of asylum and protection) we don't miss anything". And then: «The images speak clearly: Italy has become a travel agency for alleged refugees".
Open up heaven. Revolt of the radical-chics of the internet who shout about fake news.
The online newspaper Il Post launches a counter-investigation to disprove the existence of "luxury hotels that host refugees". Il Post reporters claim to have checked address by address, location by location and hotel by hotel, ascertaining the partial insubsistence of what was published by colleagues from ilpopulista.it.
One year after that "gallery", The newspaper checked again. Result: often refugees, migrants "in difficulty" and asylum seekers are still there: in structures that also welcome tourists (the areas for paying guests and foreigners at state expense are almost always very distinct, with the two categories that, Obviously, benefit from different treatments).
To be clear: it is unrealistic to imagine refugees being served breakfast in bed or enjoying the spa; Let's avoid misunderstandings: refugee life is – and stay – a life of hardship and humiliation.
In this sad controversy over "non-EU citizens in hotels", a crucial detail risks being overlooked: in fact, the problem is not to be more or less indignant about the supposedly luxurious hotels (or just dignified?) where the refugees are housed, but take note of the total delirium in the management of the migration phenomenon in Italy.
«In each of our regions – the editors of the dossier explain to the newspaper, commit yourself now to updating data and figures – there are hotel facilities that have transformed the hospitality market into a business. Then there is the non-profit-based jungle, non-profit company, associations and communities that exploit everything that can be exploited. And perhaps subcontracting their guests to slave traders for the harvesting of fruit and tomatoes in the fields". But this is another story. O, Perhaps, the lapel, of the same medal.
