Euthanasia. Talk about Mari: «73% favorable? If they knew how to die the data would be different"

Il 73% of Italians would be in favor of euthanasia. This is confirmed by recent research by Eurispes. However, if we go on to discern the search criteria and the specific contents of the individual questions, we discover a slightly different reality. At least the 60% of Italians, for example, they declare themselves against assisted suicide, different from euthanasia only in modality but certainly not in substance. Not to mention the countless reservations expressed by that 73% of favorable ones, there is even one 77,5% of interviewees who would allow euthanasia only in the event of an "irreversible coma", or brain death, considered by most scientific literature as death everything short.
Even if the Eurispes data did not lend itself to so many misunderstandings and ambiguities, they would still remain very questionable. Doctor Silvana De Mari is convinced of this, medico, blogger, writer and activist pro life. In conversation with Pro Life, De Mari argued that Italians' opinion on euthanasia would change significantly, if they were shown the effects of agony due to induced dehydration, through which Terry Schiavo and Eluana Englaro were killed. Why Alcide De Gasperi was not Catholic

PORTRAIT OF A MODERNIST

The ostentatious exaltation that certain press (on the occasion of his death – anno 1954, ndR) he made the figure of the Hon. De Gasperi as a supposed Catholic statesman, obliges us to re-establish the truth, with precise and documented complaints. With this we do not intend to investigate whether and to what extent De Gasperi was in good faith, in his mask – for he was such and no other – of a Christian politician: we never use to affirm the good or bad faith of anyone. We can only, and we do it willingly, recognize that a very large part of those who supported the political action of De Gasperi and his Party were presumably in good faith. We have always criticized, in this newspaper and other publications, some of which are of a certain size, the work of the late head of the Christian Democracy. So we limit ourselves, to document the reality to our now numerous readers, to summarize the main reasons for our past criticisms. We will do it with a certain chronological schematic nature, and with concise comments that serve to illuminate what only a political position based on Catholicism could and can be.

«Mattarella revochi l'onorificenza al sanguinario maresciallo Tito»

Our Matteo Castagna also asked this during Nicola Pasqualato's Facebook broadcast “Benedetto TV option” yesterday at 14.30

The news is destined to surprise anyone who still ignores it: Josip Broz Tito, the bloodthirsty “Marshal Tito”, it still is today Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, decorated with Grand Cordon. The highest honorific title of the Italian Republic. It was awarded by the then head of state Giuseppe Saragat, In the 1969. The honor granted to still appears on the website of the Presidency of the Republic Tito, responsible for crimes committed in the Istrian-Dalmatian lands, from the foibe to the exodus of refugees.
To ask the current president of the republic, Sergio Mattarella, two city councilors of Trieste are responsible for removing such an ignominious honor, cities among the most involved and therefore sensitive to the drama of the foibe and the Istrian-Dalmatian exodus: Paolo Rovis of the New Center-Right e Claudio Giacomelli of Brothers of Italy.

An Istrian girl

FIFTH COLUMN

by Marcello Veneziani
I would like to tell you a story sweet and bloody, tragic and light. It's true. An elderly lady called me, introducing herself as a Julian refugee and asked to meet me because she wanted to give me documents on the civil war of '45. He asked to meet me in the morning, because in this way it would have escaped the control of children and grandchildren, she said to me in the complicit tone of a teenager. We met in a cafe. He was clutching the newspaper I write in, as a sign of recognition and perhaps gratitude, and betrayed a cordial emotion, held back by the grace of a seasoned education. She immediately told the story that made her heart swell.

Memory and anger. After 36 anni nessuno ha mai pagato per l'omicidio di Paolo Di Nella

Thirty-six years ago he died Paolo Di Nella, on his twentieth birthday. Hit from behind, to the skull, on the night of 2 February 1983 by two representatives of theWorker autonomy (while he put up posters to give back the green space to the citizens of his neighborhood Villa Chigi), Paolo goes into a coma and never wakes up again. An absurd death, “out of time”, for which no one has ever paid the bill with justice.

A flick of the tail

It was the 9 February 1983: the acrid taste of years of lead, with its load of fallen on both sides, it seemed like a thing of the past, the youth right had made giant strides in overcoming ideological conflicts, part of the left was starting to criticize itself and generational dialogue seemed within reach. Instead, that blow to the back of the head is an unexpected and unpredictable leap backwards. Read More

"Come ultimo rapporteur Onu in Venezuela vi dico: no humanitarian crisis and the sanctions of the United States and the European Union are premeditated murder"

. “Those who died from malnutrition or lack of dialysis or other medicines died as a result of the sanctions of the United States and the European Union”

On the crisis in Venezuela no one more than Alfred de Zayas, graduated from Harvard, professor of international law in Geneva since 2007 and the only United Nations rapporteur in Venezuela during the years of the Bolivarian Revolution, it can be a reliable voice in the chaos of fake news in which we are immersed these days.
We had the opportunity to interview him as an editorial staff of the Antidiplomatico.

J. M. Bergoglio and sexual education

Il 28 January 2019, during the plane ride back from “World Youth Day” (WYD) held in Panama, J.M. Bergoglio, as is now his habit, gave a pearl of his usual interviews. Answering journalists' questions, he talked about “sex” and sexual education. Evidently these words of Bergoglio do not claim to be the expression of a solemn and infallible magisterium; however, they express his thoughts expressed in his typical way of approaching delicate issues, which should be addressed with extreme care and competence, but which instead are presented with an irreverent naturalness and summarized in a few words. He expresses himself rather as a private doctor, but in the collective imagination his words are still perceived as words of the Pope and perhaps have much more influence than many official documents since "the Pope said it" "so it can be done... so there is nothing wrong...".
The purpose of this article is to compare the words of "Francis" with the Orthodox teaching of the "pre-conciliar" Popes, and make some simple reflections.

If Salvini wins in Abruzzo no one will stop him anymore

by Paolo Becchi on Libero, 07/01/2019

Voting is on Sunday in Abruzzo. A Region with almost one and a half million inhabitants, central from a geographical point of view but economically very linked to southern Italy. Voting in this Region is the first real electoral test after the political elections. And this explains why Centre-right, Center-left and the Five Star Movement give so much weight to these elections.
What is really at stake? What in particular drives Matteo Salvini to go to this Region seven times and now, already present in the area, to stop there until one day before the vote? What drives Berlusconi to also come to the Region to participate (today in Pescara) at an event and with Salvini and Meloni and take a photo together?
Let's start with this last question which is the simplest. It's obvious, Berlusconi wants to give the impression that nothing has changed, that the Center-Right is always the same as it used to be and that it wins when it is united. Parole. In reality, Berlusconi moved because if Forza Italia ends up below the threshold in these regional elections 10% this means that the process of exhaustion of his party is now irreversible. The polls tell him that he could even touch that threshold and that is why Berlusconi decided to participate in the closing of the electoral campaign. But this will eventually be just a small sign of life for his party. Salvini can aspire to take the League beyond 25% of consensus and therefore the comparison with Berlusconi no longer exists. Berlusconi is just trying to save face. Read More

The priests in the Tito concentration camps

Report from the Federici Study Center
A few days after the day of remembrance of the foibe and the exodus of the Julian populations, Istrian and Dalmatian, we publish some pages taken from the volume "Survivors of the deportations in Yugoslavia" (YY.YY, Bruno Fachin Editor, 1997). This is the testimony of father Albino Simpliciano Gomiero: “They had come to pick me up from the convent”, especially the paragraph: “The clandestine mass”.
(…) The first Sunday of Lent (23 February 1948) I woke up early. I heard my neighbor on the right, Father Chresus, he was praying. He was lying on his side with his back to me. After the alarm signal I saw him handing something to the others in a white handkerchief. In the handkerchief there was a box, everyone took something and put it in their mouth. Father Kreso passed it on to me too. “If you want to communicate…”. Communion! Christ in prison! The Lord in prison with us! The box contained pieces of bread. Father Kreso had celebrated. "Attention! Don't let the Serbian sobni starjesina see you, and also pay attention to the Orthodox priest!”. I received Holy Communion and passed the Blessed Sacrament to the others. Father Eterovic explained to me later, the polyglot who studied in Jerusalem, who did this every Sunday, when they received genuine bread and raisins from them: in turn, a priest celebrated mass by consecrating the wine extracted from raisins. No sacred vestments and candles. The chalice was a jar of preserves, the pyx, a small box; the missal, some pages of toilet paper which reported in full the Madonna's mass “Hello, Holy Parent", written in pencil. How much sadness invaded our hearts when the sound of a bell announcing the day of the Lord reached our ears.. Read More
