Censor it, interviews a fascist

Maximum solidarity all’ friend Gianluca Versace, who has never been a fascist or even a sympathizer. We are in the dictatorship of Single Thought?
The Holy Inquisition of the Press has condemned a journalist, Gianluca Versace, for airing an interview with a funny restaurateur, Ferdinand Polegato, dressed in fascist uniform, with the fez and the black shirt. Versace hosts a program, News today, of Canale Italia, very popular in the North-East which favors irregulars, countercurrents of every kind. He interviewed a fascist out of time, who had already been interviewed by others, and The Mosquito to other programs, because it is journalistically tempting to have someone who dresses like that and declares himself a fascist and perhaps miraculously shows up on video. But for the Order of Journalists of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia Versace should have more clearly declared himself anti-fascist and distanced himself from the Martian in the black shirt and the things he was saying. It is clear that not only in Versace but also in Polegato, there is a dose of play and mockery but there are those who fall for it completely. And the disciplinary council of the Trieste order, last Friday, after a process of months born from a complaint from a fellow journalist, decided to condemn Versace and impose "censure on him for violation of professional duties for not having clearly distanced himself from the statement of a guest" in fascist uniform who had harshly attacked politicians, Head of State included. And he filed the sentence with the Attorney General of the Court of Appeal of Trieste and with the regional council of the Order of Journalists to request the envisaged measures.
For its part, Versace, dejected and furious, he repeats that he would also host on his program a communist who came holding a hammer and sickle. Di Polegato says it's a speck, a comic book character and that he has repeated those criticisms extended to the President of the Republic in various places, without any consequence. And he says of himself that he is a convinced liberal, he has no fascist sympathies, and comes from a family of Christian Democrats.
But as soon as you get a vague whiff of fascism, even if in a paradoxical form, something ancient and ferocious is triggered: censorship not only for those who declare themselves fascist, but also for those who - thinking of exercising their right-duty to inform - limit themselves to showing that in the rich fauna of humanity, I'm even sorry for those who travel a hundred years late.
We recall the thousand occasions in which criminals are invited, delinquents, ex-Red Brigade members and terrorists on video, in universities, in schools, or who are interviewed in newspapers, on the radio, everywhere. With impunity. We are then reminded of the atrocious statements of journalists who call for massacres for their political opponents (es. Piazzale Loreto for Salvini) and that no order bothers to censor. And the thousand times in which journalists contravene professional ethics, they reveal themselves to be unreliable and falsifiers but order prevails.
But just invite a fascist guest, who remembers Corrado Guzzanti more than the Duce Fascists on Mars, to revive that odious censorship which in many other cases now seems atrophied by disuse. Excuse me if I insist, but if some traces of fascism still survives in our country we owe it above all to those who revive it every day, with this mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, to the sound of censorship, of convictions and of great importance to marginal figures. They no longer know how to distinguish history from its caricature.
