The news is confirmed: the Superior General of the Society of Saint Pius.
It's not the first time.
Already in 2012, Mons. Fellay had refused the ordination of the candidates of the Dominicans of Avrillé and the sons of Saint Francis. Reason: their «unreliable» attitude regarding the doctrinal preamble which should have concluded the reconnection of the SSPX with conciliar Rome, preamble that Mons. Fellay retired a few months later.
The reason invoked for the refusal of 2018 it's still a trust issue.
Since June 2016, the Capuchins had made their disagreement known to the authorities of the Society who were trying to conclude a purely canonical agreement with Rome. Such an agreement, effectively, it overlooked the very serious doctrinal differences, which instead force us to consider the current Roman authorities as suspected of heresy. A short time before, he Padre Antoine, Guardian of the convent of Morgon, he declared in a video made by Medias Presse Info -TV that he could not "celebrate and participate in this Jubilee of Mercy", seeing as it celebrated at the same time a false mercy and i 50 years of the Second Vatican Council.
Such a declaration had unsettled Menzingen, who for his part publicly encouraged this celebration.
What also greatly angered the Superiors of the Fraternity is a supposedly intolerable act of charity practiced by the mendicant Order, who dared to welcome or sometimes simply help some confreres who were cold with their Superior General for not sharing Menzingen's "accordist" line.
But the key element was the support given by the traditional communities friends of the seven Deans, when they expressed, in May 2017, their reservations about the "marriage business". Indeed, it wasn't so much Rome that recognized our marriages, as much as the Fraternity that placed all traditional marriages under the aegis of the new Code of Canon Law, unacceptable in this matter.
Also in this case the true nature of the state of necessity generated by the crisis of the Church was overlooked. Hence the unanimous support of the friendly communities for the seven Deans.
Some have thought that the "electoral tour" of Mgr. Fellay at the end of October 2017 in all friendly communities, it was a sign of pacification or at least of truce, waiting for the General Chapter in July 2018. Don Bouchacourt, who accompanied Mons. Fellay in this round, he had stated it clearly.
In fact, it turns out that this was not the case, despite the finger-pointing of the Monsignor himself. Fellay who today demands forcefully: "loyalty, loyalty, I want loyalty" (sic!).
Reassure yourself, Mons. Fellay, lack of loyalty is certainly not the flaw of the Capuchins of Morgon, nor of the priests who do not share Menzingen's recent opinions.
Per convincersene, just remember what true loyalty is, recently described so well by General Pierre de Villiers (in the book «Servir», prologue):
«True loyalty is telling the truth to your boss. True freedom consists in being able to do it, whatever the risks and consequences. Lyautey [General Louis Hubert Gonzalve Lyautey] he stated: “When I hear my heels click, I see the spirits closing themselves". True obedience has nothing to do with blind obedience; this is obedience out of friendship. […] Loyalty is not the courtly spirit, nor continuous assent to what may be useful to gain goodwill. Sometimes silence is close to cowardice. Loyalty loses its legitimacy as soon as legalism begins.”
To return to our dear Capuchins, these, as usual, they won't complain. They will accept this new humiliation as a small participation in the next Passion of Our Lord. And they will not fall into the gross trap that has been set for them either: they will wait, rather than soliciting the help of "another bishop", so Menzingen won't be able to say «you see, we said it, they are the ones who broke it".
Because the rope is far too thick, thicker than the cord that our dear religious people carry, so big that little Marcellino himself from “Pane e vino” would notice it without problems.
