A Sky TG24 the economist and writer intervened Ilaria Bifarini, to express their opinions on the budget law 2019 registered M5S-League. About that, the New Keynesian economist declared: “I believe that the Government should not review the maneuver from a more prudential perspective, but on the contrary make a stronger and more decisive maneuver by imposing itself even more towards the diktats imposed by the European Union. Bifarini: 'Italy was not ready to join the Eurozone’

We had a public debt well above the required parameters. So a force was made to allow Italy to join the Eurozone. There were no requirements at all for Italy to be admitted. The problem of growth does not only concern Italy”.
The economist has in fact explained that “the countries that have adopted the single currency have grown at a much lower rate than those in Europe that do not belong to it all’Eurozona [VIDEO]“. “And Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz himself tells us this”, he underlined.
And speaking of the workhorse of the M5S, i.e. citizenship income, Ilaria Bifarini stated: “I believe that the citizen's income is an emergency measure because we are faced with an unprecedented poverty rate and a youth unemployment rate that is unique in the history of Italy.. E’ an emergency measure that serves to help people who would otherwise find themselves abandoned by the State. I don't think it's a maintenance income for someone who wants to stay at home on the couch. Citizenship income also exists in other European countries and was conceived among other things by great economic thinkers and philosophers”.

Bifarini: 'We have been in primary surplus for over 25 years’

“We are from beyond 25 years in primary surplus, that is, the State asks for more than it provides.
And this should not be the role of the state. The fact that the debt is increasing despite the fact that we have been in a primary surplus for almost 30 years is due to the perverse interest mechanism. In 30 years we have paid three trillion euros in interest”, concluded the economist Bifarini.
