The reference is obviously to the Nigerian mafia, whose presence in Italy has been documented for years and which is becoming increasingly popular. With methods that often make Cosa Nostra "the original" pale. Well, for Pope Francis the objection cannot be accepted. The reason? “Some might say they are criminals. But we also have many. The mafia was not invented by Nigerians, The mafia is, let's say, a national “value”.. It's ours, Italian“.
